I misspoke , it's not curly. Your beard video came up and I got excited thinking you might would help me. I'm way out of my league but it's important to whom I'm making the violin for which is ambitious enough on it's own. I could and have watched your carving for hours. I most like the wood spirit carvings. Thank you very much!

I am about to attempt to carve the head of a Zitzu. I wonder if you might have time to make a video on how to carve curly dog hear? It may seem a little unusual but it will be on the head of a violin.

Alaska is still warming up. It's nice to hear east coast. Again ,you are making this so fun. I'm still struggling to keep my tools sharp. I'm going to order a wheel grinder. Do you have any preferences to China brand , or is the smaller 50.00 grinder on Amazon, vrs a 200.00 home depot. Maybe a video to help. Or the belt with sand paper? Maybe better. What you think?

If I may. I had same issues and got me the power strop kit to go on a drill and a drill harness. It comes with two different leather wheels for compound. Was around $38! It was perfect because I could slow battery drill down for my small palm carvers. But this is only good for tools that already have the bevel u want. Just buffs it razor sharp fast. I wish I knew this long time ago

And btw the belt sander at harbor freight when on sale around $40 I think u can also buy leather belts for those for quick change out but there special ordered online around $30 for single you guys correct me if I’m wrong

If you buy a bench grinder, the first thing I would do is slap a cotton buffing wheel on it with Zam honing compound. I have a cheaper harbor freight bench grinder that's working fine.

Great video as always! Are you using a camera on a stand or iPhone/tablet? Does it get in your way of seeing what you’re doing ever?

I use a camera! And usually I’m able to position the camera between my project so that I can see the project!

Hey Alec 2 questions this time! Omg lol no 4 real doe. That badger state knife ur using is it better than let’s say flex cut in your opinion? Also your lessons/courses Online for let’s say the less expansion/beginner course level… about how many of them are strictly wood spirits and character carving in the round? I must know Thanks bro

There are 21 beginner projects currently on the school page and 6 are wood spirit based projects! 9 of them are knife only whittles! The rest are relief carvings of faces and flora!

I like both! I don't know that I've notice a huge difference between them! The flex seems to be less prone to breaking but the badger seems to hold an edge longer!
