Ungors have move through cover so they dont get the penalty of -1 movement for dangerous and difficult terrain, they can also retoll any 1's when rolling for dangerous terrain

Move Through Cover and Open Order Gors and Ungors can almost completely ignore terrain. No move penalty, no rank disruption, and if you roll a 1 on dangerous you reroll it.

Think keeping the mage seperate when the beastmen were about to close to contact was a serious mistake. Those glade captains alone probably could have overcome the static combat res difference and swung the game tbh.

OMG! I was screaming at the end - Beast turn 6. A unit of Minotaurs flank charging the Eternal Guard plus two kamikaze Chariots charging the front, impact hits? They would have tore the spears a new orifice. It would have been glorious!

no impact hits, the chariots need to charge more than 3 to get impact hits and steve moved the eternal guard close enough to the chariots

@@Gorrky Granted - I forgot about the 3" = impact hits bit, but that is so easy to get around. The Beast player was playing the two chariots as a single unit instead of 2 individual units. So... Move one chariot back 3-4" as bait, and the 2nd on back their full movement of 8". The Elves then have the choice of moving within 3" of the first, which means the 2nd can get a full charge off, or they can charge the first chariot which then promptly flees as a charge response. The Elves choices then are ) Try to run down the fleeing chariot or b) have a failed charge, leaving them within charge range of the 2nd chariot. AND they are still within charge range of the Minotaurs who ALSO get Impact hits but now likely in the Rear arc instead of a flank. The Elves best defensive move would be to back up and wheel so that both the minos and both chariots are in their front arc, so that they can at least bring the second rank of spears in (Do you get the 2nd rank of spears when charged in the flank/ rear? I don't think so) and they don't lose their rank bonuses nor give flank bonus to the Minos. But either way 4 minos and 1-2 chariots worth of impact hits are still going to leave a mark. Minos are all about charging in and eating stuff, not to be put off by a bunch of pansy elves with pointy sticks. Fun Bat rep in any case.

@@Syzl103 Did they change chariots in TOW? In WHFB chariots could wheel freely and move their full movement. It wasn't like a ranked unit - 25% movement to turn 180 degrees, no marching. It was freely turn 180 degrees, move 7 (or8) inches, wheel freely 180 degree to face back the original way.

IMO you are playing skirmishers wrong. PG186: Formed Units Charging Skirmishers; "Once the charging unit has made contact with the target unit, it does not wheel to align." At 33:32 you moved directly forward via the shortest route, then wheeled to align. This IMO is wrong, the scouts should have formed up against the giant. This is important because it means the giant can chose the direction it will overrun, obviously in this case into the unit of fleeing gladeguard. I think this is a very important rule you guys keep getting wrong (the only one tho, love you guys). If you think I'm wrong please tell me why with rules and page numbers. thanks.

Skirmishers have to "close the door" on a charging ranked unit. You have to charge the nearest Skirmisher thou

At 34:30 you guys break to look up how ranking skirmishers work. It says in the rule book that you do not wheel when lining up skirmishers. You charge towards the closest model and then they form up on you. There is no closing the door. P186

Always appreciate seeing Old World content but I do wish you guys would go back to the hand-held format. I know that probably comes with its own challenges but it looks better (to me) than static shots. Thanks again for another great game!

FYI the Beastlord is Heavy Infantry, so it can never be joined to one of your skirmish units because of the skirmisher requirement to be the same unit sub-type

Thank you for making this content, it was an entertaining fight! Though I wonder if you prefer making them this style, or the old one? I kinda prefer the old style: The camera's a little too zoomed out and I can't really tell what's going on. Does anyone else have this problem?

Skirmishers would not redirect the charge of the giant - he moves forward until he hits one, then the skirmishers form up on him. '

He still has to complete his charge into the closest skirmishes model as if it was separate unit so has to wheel to close which is how skirmishes eedirect

​@@matthewwilliets7809 incorrect. BBB pg.186 "Once the charging unit has made contact with the target unit, it does not wheel to align. Instead, the Skirmishers must form up against the fighting rank of the charging unit..." Skirmishers cannot be used to redirect in the fashion you describe.

@@SDKFZ259 p186 says that you must move "as directly as possible into contact with the closest visible model" and in p92 defines "moving directly away or towards" as moving in the direction of the center to center line. It is not the exact same wording but, within these poorly written rules, it is the only answer to those words that im aware of. Note aswell that normal charges dont use the term "move directly", so it must have some meaning.

23:00 forgot gors and ungors have move through cover, so not slowed and can reroll dangerous terrain.

Failed charge is move the higher of the charge roll dice, or the lower if through dangerous terrain. U don't add your movement.

They don’t, pretty sure it is in the faq but because no wound roll is made you don’t get armour bane but could elect to roll to wound instead of just taking the poison auto wound

@ 14:44 why can the 3 rank unit of GG all fire at the giant using volley fire? Theyre not on a hill and large target only lets them ignore cover, not get more shots.

I feel you guys don't stay on the camera showing the actual game enough whilst showing the only players a bit too much, it's like POV you're watching a game from the next table over and occasionally check in to see what's happening lol

Chariots treats woodland and forest as impassable terrain so you cannot move through woods voluntarily. Just get hits when you break and or flee

Ironshod wheels makes difficult terrain dangerous and Linear Obstacles as Impassable. Forests are just difficult by default.

I love you guys but this batrep was very frustrating to watch. I'm all for smart play but the degree of cageyness made this boring to watch. One flank never even engaged, and the flee moves from Steve prevented us from seeing several fights in action. Luka you completely forgot that Gors and Ungors have move through cover so should have been rerolling those dangerous terrain checks. Also not sure why the Eternal Guard would have shredded the Beastman flank when a ton of impact hits would have gone off first.

You need a 3" charge for triggering impact hits, EG marched at 1" from them. Also, flee and cageyness are keywords for Wood Elves, so...yeah.
