Metasillicate works much faster and has more cleaning uses. That said, it’s more caustic and requires more care than percarbonate. Percarbonate also generally requires brushing to get the result you want.

Thanks for the info!! I don't do much wood, and I really want to do it better than I have been. Always trying to do better!!

I only use percarb if the wood isn't really dirty. Meta is the go to for nasty wood. For really bad wood I use Meta + a little SH. I apply using a 5 gallon bucket sprayer I built with a milwaukee battery. Have to be careful around houses spraying those types of chemicals. I wouldn't xjet if you clean them around houses. Get you some Meta and try again.

Sodium metasilic for a fence that old. Quicker and gives it a more like new look. Still came out good though. 👍🏽

Exactly, sodium metasillicate is a faster product for old bare wood. It's hard to go a lot stronger with percarbonate because it just won't dissolve Also, oxalic acid lasts quite a bit of time after mixing. Percarbonate, metasillicate or hydroxide have a short shelf life after mixing.

I think SH 2.5 would have been faster. Maybe you need to step up your concentrations to really see if they would work faster.

Good call, I have been trying some SH on wood lately. It has Bern doing better for me than the precarb

Have you considered a battery-powered sprayer? I would definitely recommend that over an Xjet. I think that would be way too much over spray that could lead to some problems for you. That's my two cents. Love the videos though. Keep grinding 🤘🏾

Try using a 5 gallon wash bucket Paver sealing bucket setup.

I have been looking into those since adding the pump up sprayers.

First thank you for your videos they are very informative. Pump up sprayers Due have there place, but the wash buckets are great and you can use a 50 foot hose.

Yep, and from my understanding better pressure, and it just looks so much easier than the pump up. Thank you for the suggestion!! I definitely plan on adding one soon!

This is why I turn down most wood jobs that are this dirty. Most customers expect a "new wood" look result and you just can't get that without pressure. Not worth the effort...or complaints to me.

Same, I'm hoping to find a better solution than just turning them down. After 4 years of walking away, I hopefully can make it work and add the new service
