What do you do when your bowl has a big hole in it? Well you contact Total Boat and have them send you out a gallon of 2:1 Resin. Then you fill that hole with resin and honeycomb aluminum.

The finish on that bowl really brings it to life. Great choice with the purple resin and honeycomb. That's definitely one to be proud of. The negative rake cutters really help me when I turn resin and really hard woods.

Just subbed. Great job man! What caused your spindle to warp? I am thinking about getting a laguna 2436. What do you think about the quality of yours?

Well, I think it was this blank. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qcWGepWVrrnHfmg.html I could never get it balanced. I talked to Laguna and they said it should not have warped the spindle. But the spindle was warped so they sent me out a new head stock. I will say that Laguna support was awesome and I love my 1836. There are a few things I would like to change. Hey is you do get it make sure to get the 220v one you won;t regret it. Ken

Hi Moonpie, I love watching your videos before bed. Mesmerizing! I have a question for you. Would there be a benefit to using a vibrating plate during the pour to help minimize gaps and bubbles? Maybe this isn't a problem anyway?

Hey Eric, I appreciate those kind words. A vibrating plate may introduce more bubbles. A pressure or vacuum pot is the best options. Ken

Very nice Moon. How the heck did your cutting tools not get caught up in those big holes? I haven't used a lathe since shop class in the 80'2 so no experience to fall back on.

The resin filled the holes and the aluminum is a very soft metal so the cutter go through them well. Ken

I put it away to dry, then life took over and I did other projects and forgot about this one.
