Thanks John, more improvements to come too. I've a microphone on order and some softer music to use. Should be up and running on the video after my next one (that one is almost complete). Cheers Geoff

I like the rock faces, I saw them in Hobbycraft when I was just pondering scenic possibilities and bought the small rock mould and a set of paints which contained 6 colours. I think they are excellent and can’t wait to build more. Those bigger moulds look great.

They really are great Roy, the great thing is though you can use the smaller ones joined up with plaster to create a bigger rock face. Have fun making them. All the best, Geoff

Great video Geoff, thanks. Was nice to see somebody else trying this, I must admit I struggled with pouring of rocks but got a few learning points from watching you. I am however a fan of the leap order spot technique and as you did, feel that 3 secondary colours and a black wash do provide best results

Looks great...nice job. The Woodland scenic rock kits are very good. I tend to scribe along the back of the larger mouldings until you can snap them in half that way. You get the perfect height and two lengths for one.. cheers, Chris

I really like how the molds enhance the details which are not always easy to get in N scale.

Hi Geoff. I've heard about leopard spotting before but never seen it action, watching your video shows how subtle the blends work and what a great effect they give. Great job!

Thanks very much, i'm really please with how it turned out, my only criticism of the kit was that it could do with one additional colour for the leopard spotting, but that's all. Cheers Geoff

Loving those long sweeping curves you have and rocks do work well. Is there any chance please of changing the music please as that girl shouting ‘Hey’ really makes me jump at a time I least expect it. :)))))))))))) lol

The rock work looks great, can I ask you the containers of the woodland scenics grass etc you had and used in the background, when you buy it does it come in those containers, I will be needing quite a lot for my new layout which is currently under construction, I hope it turns out as good as yours. Regards.Colin.

Hi Colin, thanks very much for your kind words. With regards to the Woodland Scenics products, yes they come in either small bahs or those large canisters, its much better value to buy the bigger tubs. All the best, Geoff

Hi Geoff just watched your video and after i watched it i will give the rock kit a go also how long do you typically leave the plaster in the mold for before you take it out.

Hey, its really quick, i only left it for 45 minutes and it was then ready to remove from the mould. I did then leave them laid on newspaper overnight to dry. Was really easy! Cheers Geoff

How much will it cost in total including paint? I’m debating either foam rocks quick fix or commit and pay more to have realistic great effect like yours 🤔

Hi Phil, the learning kit is about £15 and comes with everything you need to get started. Additional hydrocal is about £12 for a large tub. Once you've used up the paint in the kit you can always make your own washes using acrylic paint. So i guess it boils doen to how big an area you need to cover. Cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff, enjoyed watching you making the rock face. Still not sure if I will have any in mine but we shall see. I was watching Peter of mpeterll carving his rocks from plaster. Not sure if you have seen but worth watching right to the end, the transformation is unbelievable. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p9KRhNR209Wpmqs.html Regards Chris
