hello! this was a fun video and a great help in setting feeds and speeds for brass. I did want to point out that in the article linked it suggests a feed rate of 50fpm, which I assume is a typo since the video recommends 35ipm and 50 fpm is heckin' fast.

Lots of learnings here for VCarve and great ideas for CNC projects. Good focus on feeds and speeds plus work holding, tabs, and coolant for brass. Well done - Thanks!

This is a great video, but a few things come to mind for the second part in particular. The first of course is all these extra tools and bits'n'pieces you need to finish off the job, they sure cost $. The second, and rather more shocking is approximately 16 minutes in when he mentions it can take up to 12 hours to polish something. My immediate though was the cost of the power you need to feed this thing to do it. Of course the finished product is fanastic!!

Where can one find the palm fiber brush similar to what you used in this video?

Very informative video. Clearly explained every step. Just one question I'd like to ask. Was any ramping used when milling the brass? Thank you so much.

In your V-Carve toolpath the screen shows a 90 degree tool although the narrative and actual bit appear to be the 30 degree tool

What’s a good cnc machine that will let me cut wood, brass, aluminum, and plexiglass? Would love one machine that will let me create amp chassis, amp cabinets, and various faceplate, name badges, and guitar pickguards.

Brass Compass and Square? Hidden meaning in there anywhere? Nice video, though. Been looking for a cnc router that works well for both wood and soft metals.

Nice looking projects but that is a crazy amount of chatter going on, especially in the compass cutting. Reduce DOC and/or fasten the brass to the bed better.

Agreed! Or change rpm and/or feedrate. And for slotting try making the slot into a pocket that's 20% wider than the endmill. Finally check for compliance/backlash and stiffen the machine if possible.
