Very respectfully filmed! May she rest in peace in there. Personally would have at least cut the corners off the squares before gluing them up, but each to their own! Turned out beautiful! 💕

Beautiful work! I have a few questions if I may. What did you use to finish it? And I’ve noticed yours and a few others on KZfaq, seems the lid is pretty snug; with the lid being snug, do you have to worry about wood movement? Thanks

Thanks! I used Spar Varnish. This one was snug, but I am not worried about wood movement.

Hi Mike, Nice looking Urn. I'm a bit confused why you did the glue up that way as you had to plug the hole in the bottom layer which I could see was hidden by your brand.. I have seen people glue layers like that together and then use hot glue to sop the layers moving when you put weight on the. Take care Mike. Cheers, Huw

Thanks Huw! I did plug the hole with a dowel. The glue will hold a piece pretty firm if you work it back and forth a little. I then used my jig to apply the clamping force. I do it that way because it keeps everything centered better than gluing it independent of the jig.

Not sure i would have put my brand on the bottom of this piece knowing it was for some family and not a “for sale” item. Oh well there’s always sand paper.

It was for my Son's Grandmother-in-law. She loved my videos and would have insisted on it.
