With a week to go until Halloween I thought it was important to upload this video on how I recommend you carve your pumpkin this year! Obviously yours will look much better than mine but I decided to go with the basic triangle eyes scary pumpkin look. In all seriousness I just wanted to see what would happen if I put a pumpkin on the lathe, I was half expecting lots of mess and an exploded pumpkin!
I hope you enjoyed this more light hearted fun video. Next weeks will be a lot more serious so don't you hardcore woodturners worry 😁👍
________________________________________________________________
Hope you enjoy/enjoyed, please consider liking and subscribing, even give the video a share if you're up for it! Each project and video usually takes 10+ hours to finish, so your support is very much appreciated. More woodturning and woodworking projects will be on their way soon.

Disclaimer:
My videos are for entertainment purposes only. I am still relatively new to woodturning and some of my techniques might not be the "best" or safest. When using any tools or machinery always read and understand safety/manufacturers guidelines.
Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practise. The gloves I wear are tight fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe. DO NOT do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing.

Very cool! Just a small suggestion - if you cut the hole in the bottom of the pumpkin instead of the top you can still remove the seeds the same but you can then use the stump to pick the whole pumpkin up to light the candle. The top also won’t shrivel up and fall inside the pumpkin. Thank you. I really enjoyed watching this.

I know I'm late to this one, and this idea may sound nuts but.... Could you remove the guts, fill it with and submerge it in clear resin, and then turn it? Curious to know if the resin would preserve it. Or, you might fill it with a multi-colored resin with flame colors. It probably wouldn't work, but this is where my head went when I saw you turning this.
