Every time you say 1 more cut the jeopardy intensified, then it was over and I took a breath.

I love doing these cowboy hats and trying to get them as thin as possible. It needs to be thin, especially the rim, so it will bend. Glad you enjoyed the video.

One sentence I hate to hear - "I think I can take just one more cut." Usually followed by BANG!!! Obviously you are a much better turner than I. Congratulations.

I enjoyed watching this your braver then me turning Wood that thin, on a side note with your light rattling in the chuck try a couple of ‘O’ rings or elastic bands around the light.

Thanks Steve. Glad you enjoyed this one. It needs to be thin for it to curl. I don't use the light often, only really for the cowboy hats. I used a new chuck I made and the way it opens up to allow the light in, means it's got a bit more room than normally and so it rattles around. Thanks for the ideas. Much appreciated.

That was one of those videos that had my blood pressure off the scale. Every time I thought that's enough, you said, " A couple more cuts, and that should do." I genuinely thought it was going to snap, I should have more confidence in your skills.

Yes, you can. I prefer dry wood for it. You just need to put the hat in the jig with the bands and place it in very hot water. Leave for a few hours. Wood will soften and bend. Good luck. Look forward to seeing some pics glen.teagle@sky.com
