Welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to view my video. Today's project is a woodturning one, a unique rolling pin made out of spalted chestnut and walnut.
I do not claim to be a professional at woodworking, but I enjoy making unusual items in my shop. If you learn anything from viewing this video, I hope you will try it on your own. Please be sure to use the upmost care and caution when it comes to working with power tools and other machinery.
Please subscribe, like and share if you would be so kind. Your support for my channel is very much appreciated and will give me inspiration and incentive to create more fun projects to share with you!

I think you're referring to the double ones? I looked for a name, but there wasn't one on them I actually scored them at an estate sale! They are indeed awesome! Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!

Great video and really nice project. Can't wait to try this myself! Is there anything special I should do to the wood in order to make it clean/safe for the use on dough or other food related products?

Thank you so much! The only treatment for keeping the wood safe is natural oils and/or beeswax products. I used a butcher block conditioner that you can find almost anywhere that sells hardwood. Walnut oil is also great to use or food grade mineral oil. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!😁

What a beautiful rolling pin! I've tried making a few myself, but not as stunning as yours. However, please keep those hands of yours safe on the table saw. I think my blood pressure rose a few points as I watched you making cuts. Please use a cross cut sled of some sort for the initial cut on raw wood -- free-handing it is not only a way to lose your fingers but easily your gut too from kickback. And please use a push stick Check out other safety videos on table saws. There are crazy people who have done experiments to see "what if I..." and the results are mind-blowing. It would be horrible to get hurt. Because who would make your beautiful Ambitious Art? Please stay safe

Thank you very much for the kind words but more for the concern and good advice! I have learned quite a lot since making that piece and am more aware of safety precautions these days. I do appreciate your input very much!😊

Please get a push stick. I have a design I will give you to build your own. Trust me, table saws win every time.

You are too kind, thank you. My reckless methods are being noticed and I am certainly going to correct those in my future projects. I truly appreciate your concern!👍

@2:14 OMG! WTF! This is NOT a safe way to use this tool. I hope no one watches this and gets injured thinking this is cool.

I appreciate your input very much. I agree, it was a reckless move, but I think the camera angle made it look more dangerous. I will strive to use much safer methods in the future.
