Woodturning- Pinecone Paint Chaos and its just that. Ive had these pine cones in my shop for ages and also been sent down a load of rather strange cones from Greece or Cyprus or Spain. lol. this is a huge mix of pinecones in one project , now that is Chaos for sure.

Nick, your mock surprise and pretending to be in deep thought, (though you know exactly what you've set out to do), your conspiratorial voice (speaking the mind of some of your interested viewers), your silliness with that red con bag over your head amuses me a great deal and a joy to watch. You have a way of arresting all our attention, more importantly, you're good at what you do. Kudos!!

I'll say this for Nick. . . The first video I watched of his, I was intrigued by his unique approach to videos. I don't know that I have seen many other people who edit their videos in this style, but it really works for you Nick! I am a budding wood worker, and while I don't have a lot of tools, I am always amazed and inspired to become better at this craft so I can try to make something that makes Nick Zammeti say, "Wow, that's really funky!" Thank you for all your content, and have a Merry Christmas (or whichever Holiday you choose to celebrate) and a Happy New Year!

Oh hey, I'm only part of the way in, but I had an idea! Next time you want to do something like this, I feel like gold and silver paint would look SO pretty on the pinecones! Or perhaps use something like a pearlEX powder. OOH! Or you could cover the pinecones in glue and sprinkle on some pearlEX powder and matching sparkles! Just some ideas! I really love the pinecone idea and would love to see more takes and variations on this! If you do try this again, perhaps put the resin in first, then the pine cones, and drop the bucket onto your work bench a few times to really help the resin get in there.

For some reason, the colorful pinecones makes me think of The Lost Boys scene in the Robin Williams Peter Pan movie. All the boys with their wild hair, laughing and running around the forest covered in vibrant colors, brought into existence with nothing but their imaginations. In the trees, on the tables. It was a fun, magical scene that always stuck with me.

Nick, could you make a long and tall vase? I think the change in shape would be fun, and you could make so many things with the shape. Not just a vase, but a lamp, lamp base, lamp top, section it out, smaller containers, a long screw or dowel so it can glide out in pieces to hide things... just some ideas! You do the Zammeti thing! I love it, the idea of a pine cone vase lit up from within hit me as you dumped them into your bowl is all. :) Thanks for the beautiful work! And always being a creative and beautifully kind man.

I would maybe try using cactus juice resin with alcohol ink mixed in. Vacuum chamber would suck the pigmented resin in to the wood fibers of the pine cones. Then resin them together with the entropy resin. You could have several colors, without obscuring the shapes with pigmented entropy resin. And for added flare you can splatter them with a contrasting shade like white. That way the pine cones would still have the fun colors even after you turn it. I rarely comment anymore, but I have been here since the very beginning. Happy to still see you here and creating.

On things like this where there's lots of spaces bubbles can form, a vaccume chamber is far more likely to prevent those cavities. Preassure pots use preassure to squish the bubbles down till they're tiny and microscopic. Vaccume chamber will pull them out

It is pretty cool! It was chipping out because of air pockets. A way to avoid that would be to dip each pine cone in resin then put it in the mold. Also to layer. So resin, layer of pinecones, resin, pinecones. The goal is to have resin touching resin. When you pour resin over top there are too many nooks and crannies for the resin to flow everywhere.
