I really enjoyed your use of mixed media and your "backup and punt" attitude when materials give you complications. In this "cookie-cutter" world we live in it is refreshing to see someone put their art out there from beginning to finished product!❤

I agree! You just get the basic idea and if there is a complication, you just set up and punt! (I love football, can you tell? Lol! In watching your ability to go-with-the-flow it’s actually giving me the incentive to do that, too! Your videos are far more reaching than just woodworking! I am excited about catching up on old videos until a new one comes out! Thank you for your instructions!

Hi Jim, we appreciate seeing the overshot and sharing tricks of the trade. Just a thought, you might benefit from having a floor cushion as you are standing on cement in the same place for a long period of time. It would be less strain on your back, legs, and feet. As usual, your project turned out fantastic, two 👍's up. Keep on turning!! Oh! By the way, watching through those commercials was painful, but we want to support you and your channel. Lol

Factories I worked in for years always had foam padded mats for us to stand on since we were always basically in the same spot. Most times, our floor mats were 6' x 3' and very comfortable to walk around on.

So many amazing elements to this bowl that I can't pick just one that's my favorite! The color swirl, the copper inlay, the eyelets of color in the sumac branches, the profile...it's all just so lovely! I had no idea that sumac was UV responsive and now I wanna get some and play with it for jewelry making :) The distance footage really gives a nice idea of how you work the wood, which is great for someone who eventually wants to take a stab at learning how to turn wood and resin. I keep getting so many ideas and learning so much from watching your videos, so thank you for being so awesome about not hiding mistakes, for all the explanations of why and how you're doing everything. So many wood turners don't do that and they make it look so easy, which you prove it's not. I appreciate everything you do with this channel, Jim 😊

Bowl is amazing, like always. I work for a builder full time. Also a part time furniture maker on the side and now throwing turning into my tool box. Building cost are out of this world right now. That’s why I just bought a existing house instead of building. I’m also putting up a 30x50 metal building shop, but I wanted a block and truss shop but it was a quarter of the price to do metal.

Ooo, copper is my favorite metal, and green is my favorite color--so this is the best of both worlds for me! I love the focal interest of the sumac branches with copper "dots" spaced throughout. The copper wire inlay resembles fine rope, I really like that. Very nice bowl!

I think you made the right choice in colour Jim, it brought out the green in the sumac branches. My little guy (5yrs) tuned in this morning and said “you should make that next mom” 😅 thanks for preserving with that copper wire 😉 beautiful bowl this week.

Whoo-hoo! 101K! It’s been fun watching all the turnings and enjoying the different techniques since early on. But, darn, more competitors for the draws, making it harder to win. 😜 Have to say, I keep going down to the nearby beach to fetch mussels (Pacific/California variety), oysters, and other assorted shells to stock my inlay supply. Great use for those broken ones found at the tide line. Keep those videos coming! And happy unboxing!!!
