In this video, I am finishing the Yellow Peril bowl. I turned it into a lidded box. Had a few issues to overcome along the way. Come and see how I got on.

That really did turn out a braw finished piece !. Still think it's a really weird colour though, unusual but pretty. Good job done on it 👍

What a lovely piece of wood work what type of wood did you start with I am referring to that beautiful yellow wood. Love the way the two woods compliment each other great wood turning takes time and you have done a super job Blessings

I just started following you and so far i am impressed with your videos. I am not sure what you called that yellow wood but it looks like Hedge or osage orange thats what we call it here in the states. I use it in my cutting boards. The piece turned out really nice.

at 1 1/2 hours in, the yellow wood in the jaws, if you left it dry in the chuck would it still warp?

Now, I don't know, not enough experience as you guys are aware off, but watching a few videos, wouldn't doing the microwave thing help with drying out the yellow peril.? Just a thought, whether it's a good one or not I don't know. Just putting it out there as it could possibly help me in the future

Yes Jim, people put turned wet woods in microwaves to dry them. There's no way I was letting Glenn put that in my microwave Jim. It is from a shrub, not a tree. We didn't know much about Mahonia and whether it was toxic or not, if ingested. It's been shipped off now.
