I'm 42 and just now figuring out this wood stuff on my own. My dad was never interested in this sort of thing, so it's up to me and the Internet to learn - so thanks, Drew. Assuming I keep my fingers and learn some more, I intend to pass on what I have learned to my daughter. Assuming she doesn't skip directly to rocket surgery.

Drew, I found you channel about 6mths ago, and I'm still working my way thru the backlog of videos. This was a great project, but the final couple of minutes, seeing how your craftsmanship allows you to give something back to the person who taught you how to work with wood is just great. Certainly got the feels from this one! Thanks for your humility, your ability to laugh at yourself, and your strength of character that is the foundation for these.

You're such a hard core family man! thank you for being such an inspiration! I truly mean that. In everything you do, what I've seen up to now, I see your warmth, and clearly it was handed down to you from your father and his father. And I recognize my own father and myself in that tradition, and it is heart warming to know that you show us that it still exists. Possibly the most underrated aspect of life here on youtube and the rest of the digital shouting board: how great it is to be human and to hand down love and knowledge to our next generation.

Cousin Drew- I was proud watching your skilled hands at work. Best video yet! You brought back so many great memories of the hours spent with Grandpa Fisher and I was pleased and surprised to see that picture of me at the lathe- where have the past 50 years gone? Fabulous way to honor and celebrate the legacy of the Fisher family. You have inspired me to dust off some equipment and get to work creating in wood again. Brother David presented me with a JORD WATCH a few years ago and I wear it with pride on special occasions. Congratulations on the UTUBE success. Hug your folks for me.
