I liked your idea enough to stand down from my commitment to shut off KZfaqrs that cant get the audio and camera work right - it just amazes me. However, I still gave you a like for the content.

I like this design. I just got the casters the raise/lower one at a time by stepping on them. Yours are tucked away very nicely where mine stick out a bit.

Whenever I need to make something for my shop I either sit down with paper and pencil think about and draw schematics on how to build it myself or I just look it up where a smart guy like you has it figured out already.

Nice job! Simplistic and effective. Would love to have seen more detail around cutting the square tubing and fitting in the bearing. Maybe a diagram for that. Possibly even a reference to the size bearing you used.

Excellent video and process. I had a way to lift the work bench but was thinking of a practical way of securing the lifting arm. Thanks to you, Sir Genious, you have shown me my practical solution. You have a subscriber for life. Thank you for sharing. You have the dream work shop. Much success in the future.

Very clever design. I have an upcyled file cabinet from the 60’s I use as my lathe cart. It has something similar, but they are independent and come out to the side. Makes the protrude too far. This setup would be great.

Terrific design, simple and I love it. Can you please provide plans for it? After several hours researching all of the great ideas online your lifting mechanism would best fit my needs. I am new at woodworking and now building a multifunctional workbench that can be moved from an outside gravel surface onto my concrete carport floor using 5" w/brake casters. Keep up the good work. Thank you

Awesome! Thanks for the great design tip. Definitely doing this for my new work table. I'm curious what you used for the center pivot point. It's hard to see what the rounded part between the two washers is or how it's attached. I also assume those are standard 4" stainless door hinges. correct?

Did you weld a small plate on the end of the tube for the threaded rod that acts as the catch? Also the pivot bolt in the center just drilled thru the tubing??

Love your wood workshop!! I'm in the basement of our house, in the unfinished part of the basement. Yeah, I know it sucks, but I'm doing the best that I can. Mostly living through what I see on KZfaq, however, I do small repairs and little projects. I find myself trying to actually get my small time shop set up. Spending most of my time building things for my tools so I can build stuff. I'm from Ontario Canada and I came across a product that can make all tools POP! and Look sharp in the shop. I like to pass along good things that I come across even though I don't have the product myself, I'm just a too small time shop if you could even call it a shop. Here is a KZfaq to check out., it's called, "Lean Manufacturing - Organizing Drawers - Kaizen Foam Tips - FastCap" - video title. Give it a go, on KZfaq or even check it out on Google. With a SHOP like the one you've built for yourself, You'll love it. Cheers hope you like.

This was great. Did you make it?
@LDBWoodworking6 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob. Thanks for the comment. Yes I did. I started with smaller wheels, but it couldn't take the weight. I have all my machines on mobile bases except the saw, which I don't move. Do you think videos like this are useful? Cheers. Louis
@bobbailey12886 жыл бұрын
LDB Woodworking I absolutely think this is a useful video. It took mobility to a new level. I have not seen any homemade systems that were not made of wood. I would like to see how you made it!!!!
@LDBWoodworking6 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob. I do not have footage of this, but plan to change my mobile base of the bandsaw to work on the same principle, because just to have this on wheels causes a lot of vibration. I will do a video on the build of that one. I also did one for the Jet jointer planer that works on a screw mechanism to lift the unit. I could do a video on that one? I normally weld the frames myself and didn't think that people on a woodworking channel would get a lot of use from that. What is your thoughts about having welding on this channel when it is part of making a mobile base?
@bobbailey12886 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would be interested in seeing how you weld it so I may be able to replicate it without welding. I also think it is the best mobile base I have seen. You may want to look into manufacturing and selling it.
@LDBWoodworking6 жыл бұрын
Bob Bailey I can take one side apart and put it together step by step and make a video of that? Then you should be able to replicate it easily. The challenge was not the making but rather the time to figure out what will work. The one on the bench requires no welding at all. Just cutting and some drilling. Would this beneficial? If so I can try over the weekend. Please let me know. Louis
