As someone who's interested in taking up woodworking as a hobby, but doesn't have a lot of money to put into it, thank you for making this. I really do appreciate these "cheap" hacks.

I've had the Hercules 12 inch sliding miter saw for about a year now and I really like it. Works great!!!

HF has gone through a few versions of their compound miter saws over the years. I have not personally used the Hercules brand but have heard good things. One thing 95% of people fail to do, is take their time and setup the saw properly. There are quite a few moving parts to a compound miters saw and even a saw 2-3x could perform subpar if not properly adjusted and fine tuned. I am a perfect example. Have barley touched my Hitachi 12" out of the box. It works good enough for me. Time for a new blade finally. Still on the factory OG

These videos are very helpful. I worked at HFT & buy a lot from them. Sometimes you get awesome quality at budget prices, other times it's better to spend more money on name brand products.

it is nice to see someone else is looking for a barging, vs paying top price for a tool that's not that better. More HF videos.

I've had pretty good luck with the 13" Bauer plainer from HF. By no means is it perfect, cant get rid of all the snipe, but pretty decent with some planning

I have used their pocket hole jig for about 3 years now and find it a great tool. Much less expensive than the alternative at Lowe's or Home Depot and, in some ways, better.

On thing to remember. if you have an issue with your clamps simply take them back and get a brand new one, no questions asked. No need for a receipt either.

Hear's one most people don't know. You can return the 6 inch when it stops working for you and get a new one. On the 24 inch and up c channel clamps go to Paul sellers and watch him fix those clamps.

Nailed it. 6" work perfect. When they crap out, take them back and exchange. Yes the aluminum clamps can easily be modified with some wood inside the channels. Ive done that to all mine. Great tip and video recommendation~

I have always had good luck with harbor freight. I think you nailed many of my cheap favorites on the head. I've never understood why everyone seems to hate Harbor Freight so much though. I think its just tribalism and brand loyalty that brings the hate.....

Yeah, Harbor Freight really gets the debates going! Even 15 years ago HF has some amazing finds. Over the years they have continued to improve their products and actually listen to the customer complaints and reviews. Prices have increased and coupons have been almost rendered useless, but now you can truly find some amazing deals and weekend warrior products that last forever at a 1/4 of the price. Every tool in my shop has a purpose, some purposes can get away with a cheap item and others need the best. Doesn't matter the brand, make or model if you abuse a tool and use it in ways not recommended by the manufacturer, you really can't bash the tool! It's the dumbass end user :)

It’s hard to believe you actually used and recommended one of the worst products Harbor freight carries. i’m referring to the Pittsburgh clamps. The cheap ones simply don’t work they don’t have anywhere near the clamping force of the name brands and their design is defective from the start. The key mistake is putting the release lever on the back of the handle instead of the front like proper ones. Why is this an issue because when you go to press the one on the back you will pull the main trigger at the same time almost every time. This prevents you from actually releasing the clamp. As for price if you buy the multi packs the clamps that are usually on special around Father’s Day they’re not really that more expensive. Looks like you have the HF pull saw hanging there.

Been using those clamps for 20 years. I don't seem to have any issues with them. It's a plastic speed clamp. No brainer!

Sorry for you’ll HF lovers. That place sucks. Try to return an out-of-the-box-broken-tool and see what happens. I can help w the answer. A 20% restocking fee is deducted!!! They are happy to steal 10 bucks from you knowing they are loosing a customer for life. Shame on you HF!!!!
