During the slow motion clips the movement of the cone appears to be closer to a square wave than to what I assume is a sine wave input. If the input frequency during these clips is 13Hz and the camera frame rate is 30Hz (maybe even 60Hz?) then we are below the Nyquist frequency and are seeing the true motion of the cone (no frame rate trickery). There are also some smaller high(er) frequency oscillations at minimum and maximum excursion which look similar to the ripples that are seen in electrical signals when using lower order Fourier series to produce square waves. Maybe someone can elaborate on what is happening but to me this screams audible distortion. Does this happen to all drivers when pushed to their limits? Is it reduced when the driver is in an enclosure? It’d be interesting to see the input sine wave on an oscilloscope against an accelerometer attached to the dust cap. Looks like I have some experimenting to do.

1000 watts at 13hz is a pretty hardcore test for a 1000rms sub. Glad to see companies making subs that hold up mechanically

13hz at 1000 is really pushing it. Can say for sure that the mechanical clearances are good

The Motor and Basket is the same as the Dark Audio NKO-12...I've had One on 1000W Rms Clean power for over A year no problem...@1200 Rms clean for 5 mins they start to stink...But nice ass budget sub str8 up...shout out to SMD For the give away....
