Lata ji is mother of all singers. At 70 lata ji sung live songs many times. But alka at 56 age no dare to sing even in movies. How she could be bharat ratna. Her career was 20-30 yrs only. But lata ji gave her voice to 3 decades.

Bharat Ratna koi Filmfare awards ya iifa award nhi jo kisi ko bhi de diya jaye. Shayad apko pata nhi ki Lata ji ne ye mere watan ke logo jb gaya tha pura desh emotional ho gya tha. Pure world me Lata ji ne sbse jada songs gaaya hai around 50k. She was the first Indian to perform at royal Albert hall. She received highest civilian award of France. Lata ji ke naam pe award bhi diya jata hai, Lata Mangeshkar award. Aur bhi bahut kuch hai jo mai itne kam words me bata nhi skta. And u all r comparing Alka with Lata ji.

Alka Yagnik is one of the great singing talents in female voice; there are not many even today who can be compared with her. She truly deserves what she has achieved. That achievement is solely based on the strength of her talent. Unique and extremely sweet voice with perfect singing quality.

Yes, undoubtedly Alka Yanik is a talented singer and she won lots of national awards and many more. However, I may be wrong and don't take it otherwise, lataji has a mesmerizing - divine voice. I love all singers of bollywood right from 40s till date .

It’s wrong to say that Alka Yagnik broke the monopoly of Mangeshkar sisters. Lata had been ruling the industry for 4 decades and were very selective in accepting songs. If at all Alka Yagnik broke somebody’s dominance it was Anuradha Paudwal who used to sing most of the songs in those days.

I agree. Yes, after an age, everyone has to retire. For young actresses, need young voices as well. With late 1980s, new voices emerged in both male and female categories... Udit, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha, Kavita and of course Alka. Yeh to hona hi tha... Just like by mid-2000s new voices became more dominant. This cycle will go on

ऐसा कौन सा दशक है 1950 से 2000 तक जिसमे लता जी और आशा जी का जलवा नहीं रहा है सुमन कल्याण पुर जी एवं अनुराधा पौड़वाल जी, कविता कृष्णमूर्ति उनकी उचाई तक पहुंची पर कोई सिंगर नहीं जो लता जी को मात दे सके लता जी संगीत का शास्त्र हैँ सभी फीमेल सिंगर की प्रेरणा है
