Love this. My cousin lent me matching tie & handkerchief and loved it about 25 years ago and I still quote bits of this piece of genius today.

Always loved this sketch. Still say "So (on the button),..." a lot and have yet to run into anyone in real life that has known the reference.

Always been my favourite ever Python moment. Was once in hospital for a week and used the time to learn this by heart!

I learnt it by heart as a child and can still rattle it off. Just did it to test myself - first time in probably 20 years but it's still all there! Lol

Now THAT is impressive! I first heard this on the Monty Python LP, "Matching Tie & Handkerchief" back in late 1977 (9th grade)... I've never tried to memorize it... again - congrats!

@@TheOrganiston9th Ahh, that LP blew my mind because it had three "sides" - I did not know that one of the sides (both sides were labeled "Side B") has two tracks on it, and what you heard depended on which groove your needle landed in. Do you remember this? It can't be replicated on tape or CD I did memorize this (we are the same age), and most of it still remains. I now understand more of the references that went over my head in '77 (e.g., "timorous beasties").

@@TheOrganiston9thThat's where I heard it too, slightly younger. I remember writing it out to the best of my ability, but I didn't get all the references at the time. I couple of people have it written out on the internet now.
