Yes, to all of this, especially the part about not having our faith properly explained. I left the Catholic Church years ago because it felt like mindless rules and rituals. I started attending a non- denominational church where my thirst for Biblical knowledge was quenched and my soul uplifted with inspiring worship music. But soon, I felt empty, like something was missing and it was the Eucharist. But why was I missing a mere symbol of the Body and Blood of Christ? Because it wasn't just a symbol, it was truly Him, truly His presence in the breaking of the bread. Once I understood that, I was compelled to dive deeper and learn about all the other Sacraments, which just exploded into understanding the Rosary, the Divine Mercy, and so many other devotionals. The lives of the Saints called out to me, I wanted to know everything about the faith and thankfully this pandemic has given me a chance to make up for lost time. This lost sheep is lost no more, but I know there are so many others like me who left the church for the same reasons. We need to get them back. And I'm starting right within my own family. How blessed we are to be Catholics, how blessed to have the Sacrifice of the Mass everyday, how blessed to have Mother Mary protecting and guiding us, how blessed to have the Angels and Saints cheering us on towards Holiness and Sainthood. Our King has provided His servants treasures to numerous to count, and the gem that crowns them all is the Catholic faith! Amen 🥰🙏❤️ P.S. I owe an incalculable debt of gratitude to the spirit-led instructors of our faith like Bishop Barron, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Fr Chris Alar, Dr. Brant Petrie, and so many more modern day Prophets for a time such as this. May God bless and protect our religious leaders.

Bishop Barron- when you speak of God wanting big families etc., what about couples who can’t manage large families? I am an adult “child“ of parents who could not handle a large family and consequently most of us have suffered tremendously throughout our entire lives. Also, on the other end of that, in my career I have worked with hundreds, may be thousands, or families who have had far more children than they could handle and they were destitute. I was fortunate to have moved into a position in which I could offer some help but it seems like it was no more than a Band-Aid for a much bigger problem. It’s great to come across a large families who have lots of money, extended family support, emotional stability, etc. and can manage all of this but most of the time, in my experience, that is not the case. So often it results in suffering -mostly children suffering and the suffering often does not stop when children reach adulthood. That is a long message! After close to 30 years of my career which had all of this in my face along with my own life, it is a topic of which I am passionate about. I would love to hear you speak more about it. Thank you.

Yes, large families cost money to raise. There is no question. But, it can be done and it is done all over the world. One key principle to keep in mind for raising larger families is the distinction between needs and wants. I grew up in a large family and I have known plenty of large families. Neither my own family nor the other large families that I've known over the years were wealthy. Most of them were single-income families. In all cases, success on a natural level happened with a focus on needs over wants. This often means: rarely going to restaurants in favor of eating at home, going to a less prestigious school at a lower cost, teenagers working and helping out to some degree financially in the household, growing a garden, learning DIY blue-collar skills, etc. On a supernatural level, success is always tied to living out the faith. Giving God first fruits in our life actually aids us in living out our natural life in a more fruitful manner. We are ordered to our supernatural end, which is union with God. This, in turn, orders our natural life to the best possible outcome for that end. For those with large families, that means spouses willing the good of each other and, in turn, willing the good for their children.

And some of us were only physically able to have one child due to health concerns, but we can still be spiritual parents to those children in our lives. Like nieces, nephews, or even big kids like our family and friends who do not follow Christ. We can evangelize to everyone and anyone in our lives, that's the beauty of our faith.

Theresa, this 'false prophet' wants you to believe that God wants you to have large families. The reason this f.p. wants you to believe it is so is because the catholic church will reap the rewards by forcing you to tithe in larger amounts for your sins to be washed clean. But, the catholic church cannot wash your sins, nobody nor even Jesus can wash your sins. Only you can ask God directly to help you and forgive you. When you ask God to forgive you, be specific, then . . . never sinning that way ever again shows God you are worthy to be forgiven. If you sin the same way again then God will not take you seriously. Example: I asked God to help me with chronic back pain. He completely washed away all the pain after showing me how to help myself. It took 3 years but the important thing is . . . the pain is completely gone. Read Matthew and enlighten yourself. And, remember the story of Martin Luther (the German blacksmith), a true story, for he revealed just how EVIL the catholic church is. and . . . still is because they refuse to obey God.

I have 1 young child and would love more. Unfortunately, modern society does not support economically or socially, more than 2-3 kids per family. Historically, mothers have had the support nesscary for large families in the form of multi-generational homes, and tight-knit communities to help with day to day activities and childcare. Now, parents are expected to bear most of these duties alone with almost no breaks, at the cost of our physical, emotional and spiritual health. As long as we are called by Christ to have large families, maintain rich meaningful friendships, and keep our bodies and minds healthy, Catholic parishes should be providing frequent family oriented programs that offer reliable support to families who need emotional or physical help. This will lead us all closer to Christ ❤

We must aspire to be more like Jesus, praying, and fasting are very important but so is taking action. Jesus took action he performed so many miracles. He fed 5000 in John 6:5-14. Also known as the "miracle of the five loaves and two fish" Changing water into wine at Cana in John 2:1-11. These are just a few times Jesus took action. I took action I refused the vaccine because of my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and I was fired from my job of 13 years. I’m a single mother struggling to provide food, and shelter for my two children both of my sons are autistic, so my days may be more challenging than most mothers. We are not celebrating thanksgiving this year because honestly we can’t afford it. Even though i’m going through all these trials and tribulations I still have faith that God will provide! He will make away for me and my children! Amen!

To say what Saint Paul said, every Christian must give their lives a 360° turn. To live like like Christ is to renounce the World and its folies. To be like Christ is to refuse to sin 100%. To love like Christ is to suffer without complaining. How can anyone succeed at this? Through commitment and prayer, lots of prayer. I love big families, those families are loving, not perfect, but are full of love. The sexual life of a person cannot be a Hollywood movie or a to be on auction. Drugs and addiction are sons of the evil spirit, any addiction is the fruit of self-indulgence and lack of discernment. Faith is the firm belief in God. Jesus reveals Himself to anyone who loves Him.

It's so disposable and we have a Catholic priest and his front office turning a blind eye to these three family court attorney who profit from a corrupt system who donated to this Catholic church. I called them out on social media because they weren't making Christ first. I've gone to a different Catholic church instead.

Obedience implies Trust! We are not 'enslaved' by Christ when we make Him King of our Lives. We are acknowledging that He has our best interests at heart. That He loves us as children, brothers, sisters, family. We are obedient to His Lordship because we trust Him to take care of us, to not allow things into our lives that we cannot handle with Him, and for Him to be listening when we tell Him we don't understand.

We need more shepherds like Bishop Barrens. Too many are luke warm in faith and it is so true that we have dumbed down our faith. I was brought up to offer things up for others especially the holy souls in purgatory. What I have found as I have aged is undoing so I’ve not only been comforted by angels, saints, the holy family and trinity but the holy souls have helped me through some serious times and brought me to joyful moments. I don’t think we even understand the word sacrifice or intercessory prayer at this time. We need help and grateful I found word on fire. Continued prayers for all bishops, priests and faithful.

Jesus Christ is such an unusual King - He does not seek wealth especially not from His followers as mortal kings do; they have power and they use it to increase their wealth and to overcome those who oppose them. As a Man Jesus had no wealth. as humans measure it. He had no power but instead He was servant to his followers, washing their feet at the Last Supper for example and he never bullied or coerced anyone, He didn't condemn the woman caught in adultery, He didn't call back the followers who left him in John 6:66 "After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him." He did not force them to stay as his followers.

An amazing, simple yet deep and transformational homily on the importance of making Christ the King of our lives. Christ is a King that brings true joy and lasting freedom through his grace if we make him our King. He is a King like no other, he leads by example he teaches in the gospels and finally died a most horrible death on a roman cross, crowned mockingly with a crown of thorns. Yet despite what we humans did to him, He loves us and welcomes us to a friendship with him to help save the world. Make Christ the King of all your life and begin a new journey of meaning and transformation to help redeem the world, in our short time. Christs kingdom is not in this world, and thankfully with all the endless problems, lawlessness and death we see around us, there is a true kingdom waiting for us that is based on truth and love. God bless you all!

The feast of Christ the King is my favorite bc about 6 years ago… my “second conversion” really took steam with the help of a homily very similar to this one from Bishop Barron… I was on a road trip to Dallas, I think it was a Thursday and his podcast homily was posted the Wednesday before. Anyway, needless to say, I took it to heart… and it changed my life :) following that… it was a hard 3 years of pruning but that’s another story, lol! Thank the Lord for his goodness and mercy!

Jeremiah said, there’s a fire shut up in my bones. There is potential, talent, increase that you haven’t tapped into yet. Start believing you’re a mighty hero. Get rid of those limiting thoughts. You and God are a majority. He’s calling you. Step out and get ready to see new levels, new friendships, new opportunities, new talents, new victories.

Christ the King "invites" us to be in His Life and He in ours, he does not "impose" on us, We make that decision every hour of every day. Thank you Bishop Barron for reminding us to take the time to reflect on how we make Christ the King in all aspects of our life. Today we celebrate that reality. Wishing you all a very Blessed Thanksgiving, we give thanks for Bishop Barron.

Horsing around, love it. To those Catholic friends of mine give the excuse.”I not being fed” then 1) they are not receiving the Eucharist , get state of Grace and receive Him. 2) if your pastor is a weak homolist then listen to Bishop Barron weekly homilies. Thank you Bishop. I have couple of rooms need tidy up😊

You hit the nail right on the head when you pointed out the intellectual issue. For instance, whenever I have discussions with atheists about their lack of faith and their reasons for why they left Christianity, their understanding of the faith is extremely limited.

Your Excellency. The Ten Commandments are very important in the life if every Christian. Even though the men of the Church made mistakes in the past, we should admit them without leaving the Church. In Matthew 22:15-22, when the Pharisees tried to trap Our Lord Jesus Christ to see if they should pay taxes to Caesar, he asked them to give him a coin then said to them:"Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God". When Our Lord Jesus Christ met Nicodemus, Our Lord Jesus Christ told Nicodemus:"I came to deliver people from Sin, from Spiritual Death". I believe the above summarizes Our Lord Jesus Christ's message. Let the State manage the affairs of the people, giving full equality and freedoms to men and women. Let the Church work hard on educating the Spiritual.

Just wanted to note that it's ALSO OK to have a small family if it's for wise reasons! It's just a question of "Am I being selfish?", "Am I following God?" and "What's my top concern?" Some families that are very unselfish, very loving and very generous and very focused on God are small.
