It's basically Call My Bluff but with more commonly known words. Interesting format.

Hands down buzzr is the new game show network I'd just wish a station in Columbus Ohio carried it on one of their subchannels

Love that pilot theme music, although both themes were pretty good.

To me, the pilot theme kinda sounds like the chorus from the song "Innocence" by Harlequin

Did anyone notice at 13:55 that the definitions are different than the ones just played?

The music was kind of "SplitSecond" or " USA network-ish"

Wow! I can't believe BUZZR picked up this show! I thought it wasn't going to make it, but it did! What about that?

Patrick was a champion on PYL, with Peter I 1985, he won I think $25,000.

Hey, is it just me or is that Mr. Press Your Luck hosting, along with Rod anouncing ?

BTW 7:14 was not a glitch from the recording or anything. That was in the episode as aired. I wonder what happened. Also, a shame the transfer isn't the best quality. I think they put it in progressive scan by mistake.

Payouts in the front game were lowered when this went to series, as we've seen..

Stewart has the right definition for dingbat but it was instead used for another word oxymoron

I thought dingbat means someone stupid or dumb

Peter could have done okay, but I wonder if he would have put up with the celebrities being funnier than him? It seemed that he didn't like it on "Press Your Luck" whenever a contestant made a joke. He did sometimes says "I do the jokes" if I remember correctly. That's the way I interpreted that anyway. Also, Rod Roddy may not have been able to commit to this show when it became a series due to him already being selected to replace Johnny Olsen as the announcer on "The Price is Right", hence why they went with Charlie O'Donnell.

So this is Liar's Club for words....Liar's Club was better.

No offense, but I think that Tom Kennedy was better at hosting "Wordplay," and Charlie O'Donnell was the better announcer of the show. However, Peter Tomarken and Rod Roddy were great together on "Hit Man" and "Press Your Luck." Also, if Tom Kennedy wasn't available to host "Wordplay," then Peter Marshall would have been a great choice to host it.

Peter did a nice job, but I agree that Tom was better or Peter Marshall would have been better, mainly because of experience. I don't think Tomarken ever hosted a celebrity based show.
