WordPress Theme Development From Scratch - 12.0.1 "Nonces" - Security for your AJAX Form (2020)

A nonce stands for "number used once" and is a way for WordPress to ensure that the ajax request is coming from your website, not from another location. When you submit your form, you send the nonce with it, WordPress grabs this nonce and verifies it is correct. The nonce refreshes every certain amount of time on WordPress, so even if someone knew your nonce at one point, it changes.

Hey thank you for the videos so far, amazing. I have some questions about this series so far... 1 - I am trying to change the back ground colour by going into the main.css file and trying all these but none are working - background, section, page-wrap, container ...but None of them will change the back ground colour? EDIT - I added marin: 0; padding: 0; ....fixed it. ' body { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: #202c36; } ' I also changed the colour of the font on my pages like so ..... ' body, .entry-content { color: #fff; } ' 2 - How can we add a parallax image in a small section of the homepage as you scroll down with a button located in the middle of the parallax container so that the background photo in the parallax image moves on scroll and scrolling past but the button stays centre. 3 - With regards to the original nav menu (not using bootstrap). Are you going to go into creating a mobile/ responsive nav menu, I want to try and hard code it, I think it is very interesting? Just want to say thank you again for your content so far. I would be amazing if you could do videos on the 2 above questions. I know your busy though so I wont get my hopes up.

1. is usually a browser problem! It won't always load the style sheet again. So try opening site in incognito or in a different browser.

I have a question, when to use template parts and when to use page-$slug.php, what is the difference, im so confused? :/

Hey, so basically if you create a page in WordPress called pizza (and the slug is pizza) eg. yourwebsite.com/pizza (pizza is the slug). Then you create a template in your project called page-pizza.php - then that pizza template will be used over the default "page.php" template - do you get me?
