No matter many spoilers you get a great movie knows how to build up climax so don't complain, if it's a death scene you will still cry, if its a relief moment tears of joy and laughter will come and if is a romantic rollercoaster your emotions will be along for the ride. As long it's a good movie

I've seen people saying this movie depicts a wrong image of schizophrenia because it looks romanticized or whatever, but I disagree. This movie is not about schizophrenia, it is a coming of age movie with teen romance and the main character happens to have schizophrenia. People with illnesses like that have a life you know, their illness doesn’t define who they are and much less is their entire personality; also I personally think that they did a relatively great job at portraying it.

ANYTHING. 99.99% of people are brainwashed and do not know this as fact becuase you don't even try. The more you defy " reality" as you know it, the more you see that anything is possible. I myself have schizophrenia, or something schizo-like, so I do share the pain of anyone watching this trailer and angry that again an attempt by Hollywood to honor the mentally ill has been messed up. Here's my own perspective: I'm a very loving, forgiving mental case. Rare I know, but I exist and this fact alone scares people. I can understand that. People tend to be fearful of what they don't understand. Still, if you wish to know my own life, whatever might dispel the bad taste this movie might leave behind, I'll try to answer any question you have and I would encourage everyone to give friendship a with us schizos a chance. You might be surprised at how non murderous we truly are. I still enjoy the original Psycho and I find Anthony Perkins mesmerizing, but that's my unique perspective. How you approach me is up to you. Be brave. Kindness and love are what I offer. And a good sense of humor. Promise!

I've never really met anyone schizophrenic before. Perhaps it's very rare here in Africa
@Anna-nc5xd3 жыл бұрын
Why is it messed up? He isn’t portrayed as murderous so that’s you just projecting isn’t it? I mean this is just a trailer and you yourself said that you feel you are an exception to others so surely this could be portrayed as an extension of that, it’s just someone else’s experience, all of which are different. Also it’s a teen movie so it’s going to be catering to that demographic but just with an awareness of something that’s not really mainstream which is a good thing isn’t it? I think it would be constructive to say what you don’t like about it or you feel is a misrepresentation but also remember that just because it’s not speaking your story and your truth, doesn’t make it necessarily wrong.

Tenet Trailer comes to mind. Because they know that Nolan fans want to know the mystery. Horror movie trailer are also mostly not telling the whole story. People who watch stories like this want to be sure that something stupid doesn't show up at the end. People who want to see romcoms want to see the girl getting they boy, not the boy falling for the mother. Its about the expectation of the audience. People who claim "Oh I saw the whole movie in the trailer, now I don't need to see it" wouldn't have watched the type of movie anyway. And the marketing shows that, so the film producers go with the thing that works.

My brother had schizo and it presented when he was 23 stg, its hard since he refused to take medication. Living with schizo person is hard, I listen everyday so he wouldn't feel left out. Sometimes, he heard me telling him to do stg when I didnt. Lots of time I tried hard to believe when he told me to believe stg I don't even see. Hope he'll doing better in future.

Look I'm all for a movie that brings awareness to such a rarely talked about illness, but this looks like it's a hollywood romantic teen version of schizophrenia 😑

Yes, complete misrepresentation of actually how people with schizophrenia experience their symptoms

It’s just a movie. It’s not that deep. You need to learn how to separate reality from fantasy. Not everything has to be similar to things in real life. I doubt you sit there and watch documentaries and read nonfiction books all day. It’s for entertainment

Kay.P because with what a movie ticket cost these days (pre Covid) you want to know you’re going to get your money’s worth. Sad but true.

Um filme que faz à gente refletir, e olhar para pessoas que tem Esquizofrenia ou problemas mentais. Eu recomendo, pois gostei do filme e da temática. Além de ter um romance e personagens carismáticos. 🖤🖤
