Work as the dot product is defined. The dot product using unit vectors is reviewed. Several examples are worked through. Want Lecture Notes? www.flippingphysics.com/work-d... This is an AP Physics C: Mechanics topic.

Correction:
8:03 I accidentally switched the order of the force and r-position vectors in the dot product. This means I switched which vectors have components of zero in the j and k directions. The force vector has no component in the j direction. The r-position vector has no component in the k direction. Sorry about that!!

It is my first time learning about the Dot Product. I graduated high school this year and I am looking forward to majoring in Physics and Mathematics starting from next year. You are doing a great job Flipping Physics team. I have been watching your videos since 10th grade. ~ MT Mokoena

The dot product isnt commutative right? We learnt that A x B = - B x A
@FlippingPhysics

That's the cross product, which is not commutative. A x B = - B x A The dot product is commutative. A • B = B • A

@@FlippingPhysics I have heard that JEE examination is for students from india wanting to go to IIT, I have one friend who got admission in IIT but now as a transfer he is in stanford ! When I asked him about his time in IIT he said he was not happy about it , he said over at IIT they feed you more with memorizing stuff rather than actually explaining the real meaning behind the subjects which in terms makes JEE an overrated exam !
