badguy5 That was my sentiments exactly. Patrick's story is amazing and heart warming. However, it is a shame that Walmart plunged through their billions of employees to find one with disabilities to exploit to make their company seem more human. I will admit that Walmart is a leader in employing the elderly and people with disabilities, it is a shame though that they undercut and underpay those individuals so that Walmart can make that much more billions in revenue. I would be more then willing to support Walmart if I knew that my money would go towards giving people like Patrick a decent livable wage. Patrick states that he wants to be independent, but in the video it looks like he still lives with his family. If only Walmart would give their employee's livable wages maybe Patrick could be more independent.

That was beautiful and inspirational. I know there was an article of a man who lost his hands and couldn't paint anymore. Great story. But i find it ironic that Walmart is sending this message, based on how awful they pay their workers, paying an average of $8.81 an hour, which at an average of 34 hours a week is far below the poverty rate.
@beverlybarnes112410 жыл бұрын
Why does everyone want to start at the top of the pay scale. Most have no skills, doesn't know what the meaning of customer service is and doesn't want to work the extra hours they offer when stock comes in? I started out 1971 at $2.12 per Hr. worked 2 jobs, best time of my life at 17 yrs old. Worked days at a clothing retail store, then a movie theater at night. Now I have my life just the way I molded it to be, 2 grown kids with degrees and I am out of debt with a retirement fund. Hard work is the only way to EARN what you need....PRIDE in yourself!
@Jamesmyboy110 жыл бұрын
Beverly Barnes What, so you think it's okay to pay people barely enough money to scrape by? No, that's ridiculous. Pay people enough to live MINIMUM, and if they do well they can get more.
@mcruz133110 жыл бұрын
Jamesmyboy1 Your argument falls flat... completely. I too started working minimum wage jobs while going to school and while taking care of a family. By family I mean wife and son. I was about 21 when I had my kid. Did I cry and complain about how "poor" I was because of minimum wage? Hell no, I searched and found help. I was on government assistance, I was on financial aid, and I was working two part time minimum wage jobs. Now I earn way too much to even qualify for either so their you have it. I started off with a family on bare minimum and look at me now, I'm much better off then before. So yea, nice try but your argument fails.
@iJamesonTV10 жыл бұрын
Beverly Barnes I respect you. My father worked hard and went to one of the best medical colleges at the age of 30. He sacrificed so much from working two jobs, taking care of a family, and balancing school. Now he's a dentist making 4X what he has ever made. I myself am working on helping him open up many business franchises and trying to go to college become a cardiologist.

My brother was born 2 months early, slightly underdeveloped, and he was diagnosed with several life threatening diseases. The doctors said he would die b4 he grew up. He had seizures frequently, and was in the hospital for a good portion of his young child life. Due to his diseases, he got brain damage. He was considered mentally retarded by the doctors. He wasnt supposed to live. He is now 22 years old, with a job, just like Patrick. Though he thinks and acts slower, he is always a part of everything. He is accepted by all. You will never meet a nicer guy in your life. He was born in 1991, and was supposed to die within weeks. He is alive and well, here in 2014. Living proof that bads odds dont mean anything. Great job walmart. This one was great. I teared up a little. :')
