It true that good work matters and gives purpose. . But Even good work has limitations . Good to have good work that brings meaning. But at some point even the good work may not fully satisfy. Therefore we need God in the good work and also in the work which is seemingly meaningless

Under some circumstances a job can be an end in itself, but mostly it is a means to an end. But doing something that you wouldn't do unless paid is fine. It is not the job that creates meaning. It is God that creates meaning. and it is our ability with God's grace to seek to love Him and our neighbor, and to do whatever we do, no matter how humble, as unto the Lord. There is nothing wrong with seeking work that suits you, if you can, but we must never belittle anyone for what their job is. Their value and dignity doesn't come from their job. Sure, some people may have greater status for certain jobs, like doctors or mayors, or CEOs, but we are all equal before the law and before God. Work, even hard unpleasant work, is a blessing, because it serves the ends of life, relationship, citizenship, community, fraternity, relational independence.

I can guarantee you I'd do any job for enough money. I'd put the caps on pens if it meant I was making 100k.
