High five brother, I work overnight security and just deal with adult children being jerks all night. And no, overnight security sucks unless you enjoy being by yourself and not being able to go out during the day due to being overly exhausted staying up all night.

I'm pretty sure in this case it'd be alright to half ass a lot of your security duties. All of the elevator buttons on the floor with the spooky dolls missing? Fuck that, put a work order in for maintenance and let them replace them. Power's out on the floor with a spooky red door at the end of the hallway that shouldn't be there? Fuck that, let maintenence replace the fuse and flip the circuit breakers. Entire floor flipped upside down, dark as shit, and looking like something out of an otherworld area in Silent Hill? Fuck that, put a work order in for maintenance to unflip the floor and unsilenthillify it.

Ok, I think I got the gist of the story and themes: - Red Office Lady is the resident punching bag of the company. Suffers from overwork, overbearing boss and manipulative colleagues. Those are the man of the 1F and the ladies that get killed in the 6F. They are featured in the three television viewings, which is the Red Office Lady interacting with them or being badmouthed. - As a result, she starts going to the bathroom to cry. The lady you meet in the bathroom stall in 3 different floors is always her. That's why you first see the ghost clearly in one of the bathrooms. - She is however friendly with the security guard/protagonist, because he represents the only good part of her job (the salaryman of 4F represents this part of her psyche). Also a bit of a stalker, considering she's always following and spying on you, even as a ghost. At the very least, they start dating. - One of her coworkers ends up stealing the protagonist for herself (Lady you meet in 2F. Explained in the 6F sequence). May or may not be the protagonist's wife. Life goes on and the protagonist marries and has a child, but the Red Office Lady still loves him. - Red Office Lady finally snaps from overwork (salaryman of 9F) and goes on a rampage, starting with her boss. The dead boss is the man stuffed in the locker in the final floor. The can rolling down the hallway in 8F is the one he was drinking from before being murdered (he's drinking it in 1F). You can see the very moment the lady snaps on him on the 3F television, when he's yelling at her "are you even listening?!". He probably was killed after tripping, like how the first lady in the 6F cam died. - Protagonist witnesses this and tries to escape from his ex (the whole final floor and the 6F cam sequence are retellings of this). He tries to flee through the stairs, but is unlucky (represented by the second 6F lady dying this way, after entering a door). This is the accident that likely puts him in a coma. The bad ending is him dying to the red lady pushing him down the stairs or something of the sort. - All events in the game are the events of that day but twisted by his coma dream. The ghost is not literal, just a mental manifestation of his murderous ex. - Protagonist wakes up from the coma after remembering his daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, his attempted killer is still right there. The puppet thing I can't explain though. That was just random.

I used to do a double shift once a week and personally saw the place go from a calm resting place for loved ones turn into a pitch black spook zone. I worked at one of the 11 major Catholic mortuaries in California. At night I would always see shadows in the corner of my eyes, apparitions that looked liked people, heard whispers , and footsteps in the halls while on patrol. I had to get out of there out of fear something would end up following me back home if I stuck around too long. Turns out, I wasn't the first, nor the last to do so.

I might be wrong in the summary of the story, so add if im missing some stuff. Obviously, we are in a nightmare coma of reliving distorted events leading to his hospitalization. The ghost chasing him could be his ex. Our protagonist dated someone until we met the office lady who he got pregnant, as shown by her seducing him with his body talking to the coworker. Years later, the person came back and must have put our protagonist in a coma as revenge for leaving her. The only way he woken up is the fact that it was his child's birthday, because the passcode is the date of his celebration.

i'm not sure about most asian countries but as someone who lives in SEA, an unsaid thing that comes with being a security guard is that you have to be used to the paranormal. plenty of places here are bound to have ghostly presences, although most of them aren't malicious. my dad has a little ghost story of getting pranked by one at his former office (& this was a high rise office building mind you), & i remember from my high school how security guards would warn kids to have a friend while waiting for their parents especially when it's past 6pm. basically: yeah the security guard being unfazed by horror is pretty accurate EDIT: i have to mute this but ty for ppl sharing their little ghost story experiences! it was fun to read through (ㆁᴗㆁ✿) if ur also here to tell me ghosts arent real, know that i dont care and that there are plenty of people citing their own stories below ヾ(^-^)ノ

@@seraphim108 Here's some from my own experiences on the night shift (also from SEA). A colleague was talking to his wife on the phone while on one of his solo patrols. Fairly standard patrol, nothing spooky, up until he entered a lift, and his wife asked him who he was with. He laughed and said that he was alone, at which point she told him she could hear a woman speaking in the background. Brother booked it out of the lift as fast as possible. Another one occurred during one of my night shifts, though I personally didn't experience it myself. I just hopped into the washroom for a piss. One of my teammates shouted something, and I hurried out, and the whole group was just gathered at the main hall, looking around. They told me they heard a woman's scream from inside the building. There wasn't supposed to be anyone in the building at this hour - our patrols made sure of that. We even ran a CCTV check to see if the place was clear, and we even sent a few dudes out to look for anyone who was injured. There was no one. The general rule when it comes to the supernatural here is to 'don't acknowledge it'. Once you're done with what you should be doing, just never discuss it again, outside of adding it to stories to tell around a campfire.

I've always liked Chilla games, but you can definitely tell they're getting better and better at making them. Personally, I like the 'Anime!' jokes. I think things are less scary when there is blood everywhere because the incident has already occurred. When everything is clean and you're being pursued...you are soon to be the incident. I like how Ending 1 takes you back to your family via rewinding as kind of a hint. Very very cool.

Seeing another Chilla’s Art game is like opening a Christmas present! They excel at the scares/oppressive atmosphere. I did think the storytelling was kinda minimal/disjointed though. And maybe it was just me but some of the lighting glares didn’t seem to completely fit, mainly the bathroom mirrors and some of the vending machines. That’s just me nitpicking though. It’s still really enjoyable and distinct just like every title of theirs has been! MBH’s deadpan one-liners are a treat as always!

_They don't pay that guard enough for this_ Fantastic sounds effects and a very chilling atmosphere. Agree it is one of the most eerie and frightening of their games. Very good use of jump scares, including those weird puppets. The tall ghost was scary af. I'm also trying to piece the story together, but it seems one girl who had dated the former security guard was left to do everything. Then some other girl took him away from her - and the poor girl died from overwork? The use of the term power-harasser was interesting for terribly oppressive boss. I had the feeling many of the people still in the office building were like living dead. I can only think that is why guard ended up in the hospital, barely escaping with his life. MBH, you are true master of that slow turn-around which puts me on edge and scares me more than the jump scares in the game did!!

Sometimes Chilla can get a bit work-simulator "get to the action already" feeling, like the build-up is drawn out just a little too much. This one gloriously averted that with the random creepy doll level. Which felt, somehow, like exactly what it was: a middle level that didn't have much bearing on the end, but was just fun, not padding-y (your mileage may vary). The security guard has seen everything. "Fuse blown again? You guys still keeping those in the blood maze? Ok. While I get that, someone keep an eye on the scream closet and make sure the Patreon backers don't get out, or they'll leave kawaii everywhere and you know the cleaning roster's understaffed."

Closing a building is the most terrifying thing ever, no matter how often you’ve done it. One night in the building connected to mine, someone was hiding under a table and grabbed a woman’s legs as she closed the building. 🙃 They never caught the person and business continued as usual. The way you turn corners slowly is exactly how I do it, and if Manly does it, I feel justified doing it 😂
