Is there a list of building materials for this? I would obviously need to adjust measurements according to my space but would like to build something similar. A little shorter though. Not sure if it’s preference but I like a little lower space.

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzfaq.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

Nice build, I did similar in my shop, for my bench tops I bought solid core doors at the local Habitat For Humanity Resale store, and used leftover hardwood flooring to cover the walls from the corners out to the ends of the benches, now I can display my Dad's antique tools to honor and remember him.

Nice work! It seems like a lot of people really over-engineer their workbenches. To be honest I prefer simple methods, like using the wall as part of the structure. That alone saves a lot of money, resources, and time. Most people aren't doing transmission teardowns on their workbenches, not sure why so many designs incorporate 4x4's and super thick tops. I like using 2 layers of 1/2" MDF glued together as my top, and then I tack on a layer of tempered hardboard with tiny nails. You get a super hard surface that has quite a bit of mass. I also like that you added your shelf more in the middle vs. so many that put the shelf at the bottom and you lose all that storage. You could easily store bins on the floor.
@FixItFrench

Agreed! I’ve seen people spend hundreds of extra dollars on a workbench that really doesn’t offer much more than what my workbench does. Thanks for the comment! It was a lot of fun to build this, and it’s always so encouraging to hear people say they enjoyed the build

Great video. After watching you and Big Logan, I definitetely want to do this build. What I can't wrap my head around is the offset off the wall (I'm left-handed and Polish, so forgive me). If you're using (2) 8' vertical structures and you offset 22" off the wall on both sides , then wouldn't one side of the bench be 8' in length while the other is 9"8"? What is it that I'm not seeing?
@FixItFrench
@FixItFrench Жыл бұрын
Thank you, and Big Logan was a big inspiration for this build. Good question though,the other side will be 8ft from the wall. So take that 22” and subtract from 8ft. Hope that makes sense👍🏼👍🏼

Very nice bench. But why the black painted lights? I’m doing a work shop out of a storage shed ( insulated and Air conditioning) love the look of the black lights but will it make them dimmer? Also why did you waist space around your mini fridge. It doesn’t quite fit the hole.
@FixItFrench
@FixItFrench 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and I painted the lights black because I didn’t like the white color, and they also match the mini fridge. Also I have plenty of space in the shop, so the little extra space around the fridge doesn’t hurt anything 🤙🏼🤙🏼
