My thoughts have spun around differently. I didn’t really know the amount teachers got and it’s only because how spoiled I’ve been in my recent classes. On of my teachers- every Friday she’ll buy whatever books we request that she doesn’t have. She’s spent hundreds on books with her money. She’s boughten so much utensils to make learning so much easier for us, she even has a whole wall with no gaps that hold hangings of her past classes and many many posters and boards with inspirational quotes. Making our environment positive when learning. She even bought coloured sheets to put on the bright lights to make our room darker and calming. Also bought dim yellow LED lights to string around the whiteboards. We all thought she had money- to be able to buy us all of this just for us to learn. But she did hint around that she couldn’t buy everything for us but we were too blind to see it.

I WAS a waitress! And those teens to often 30’s would act like that. Guess how surprised one of them was years later when she was alert after surgery & I was hanging her antibiotics, assessing her pain, & giving her pain meds! BTW, did NOT withhold her meds. She really needed them for the fracture she gave herself from being reckless.

In my middle and high school, students and their families had to buy supplies themselves. Teachers never bought supplies unless absolutely necessary

I am 81 years of age,and I can tell you,it was the same back then. Of course,they were only teaching the basics then,not all the things they teach now,but I graduated high school in 1959 with a B+ grade average.

The two cents "tip" in the second story reminded me of something that happened to my mom. She worked at a very popular ice cream shop in our town for like 2 years and one day two girls came in and when paying they had two cents change. The one paying said "keep the change" and my mom being the savage she is looked them straight in the eye, and dropped the two cents "tip" in the trash. I burst out laughing when she told me

For the first video, I was a little confuzzled. You see, at my school teachers have fair pay and the school usually provides extra supplies in case students need anything. Not saying that teachers aren't underpaid in some schools, but that's not what it's like at our school. Still a great video!
