Hi congratulations I believe they will already schedule you for work but with a buddy or someone will train you on what to do everyday. On my experience I have someone with me for 3 days. Then after that you will be on you own.

Do you guys ever work saturdays or sundays? I'm in nova scotia so i imagine operation would be similar to where you are.

Hi when I was still at St Johns Nl its only an option for you to work saturday if you want an overtime. But it does not normally happen . But now I am based at Calgery Fedex its your choice if you want to work saturday as an overtime. You will just list your name if you want to work Saturday. Thanks

@vermitch03

Hi yes they will give you a training. But what I know is that they will hire those who already have driving experience. But you can apply on a different position that does not require driving. Cheers..

You loading your own packages? Is that normal for you? Usually there is an entire shift of people doing that over night
@vermitch03
@vermitch03 2 жыл бұрын
Hi actually it depends on how big the facility. I started my job at st Johns NL Fedex, there some your co worker courier will load the truck for you. And then you will just double check the sorting. But here in Calgary Fedex is much different couriers does not load there trucks and does not even unload it after doing your pickup. Cause here they have a ramp agent that loads your truck. But still you still have to check if it’s properly sorted inside your truck.

How do you know the order of the packages ?
@vermitch03
@vermitch03 2 жыл бұрын
Hi it will depend on your route actually. If you’re route has a FO or first overnight will require you to deliver those before 12 in the afertnoon. Then from there you can start delivering your packages based on the path the company has patterned for your area. Because In St Johns were allowed maximum 5 minutes per stops. But eventually if you’re fixed on that route you will memorize the area and can even find a much better pattern to deliver and will give you a better stop count. Ans this will lead you on a better performance review and higher pay increase yearly. Cheers

if you're doing the same route every day, you memorize the streets and locations. there's also a handheld device that shows you each stop as a dot on the map and color-codes them based upon what time they're due. you can also use an app that lets you put every stop in and it will put them in order for you with gps.

Your making me feel like I’m crazy, 40 stops? Not 170-200?
@vermitch03
@vermitch03 2 жыл бұрын
It actually depends on your route. Cause in my route I have deliveries and pick up. And not to mention I have to get back early at the facility to load the can and drive the 5 ton to the airport to bring all the PU to cargo jet. Like what I said it will really depend on your route goals and facility. Normally 40 stops for deliveries but not including pick ups. Cause it varies everyday. But I know there are some route has like 100 stops up.
@vermitch03
@vermitch03 2 жыл бұрын
Also my area was totally scattered unlike here that I have in Calgary its just in one area around the Airport. In St Johns I am delivering and doing PU at almost 3 different area which will take you almost 20 to 30 minutes to get there another 30 minutes to get back and will need almost 20 minutes to get back to Fedex St Johns. All is accounted for travel time going back and fort. I think that what they do. And not to mention you need to go on break either 30 minutes or 1 hour.
