You can use your design, but make top lid solid and to refill cans, you can have a 1x1 hole on the side to push them in, so you can't screw it up as well
@TaranVH
@TaranVH 10 ай бұрын
Wouldn't work. The cans could twist in the air and land vertically. You gotta go vertical the whole way.
@whynotanyting
@whynotanyting 10 ай бұрын
@@TaranVH I bet there's some way to make a magazine reloader that you can fill the cans into, slide it into the machine, and pull the carriage out while pushing the cans in. Trying to think of a real world example, but I'm coming out blank. However, with the tight tolerances, doesn't seem like it would work. Could be worth trying though. Another option is to make a spring-loaded magazine that you fill, cover with a slip lid, invert on top of the dispenser, and release the lid to let the cans get ejected into. Second one I fear would still have cans rotate, but again, worth a try.
@TaranVH
@TaranVH 10 ай бұрын
@@whynotanyting Yeah, I considered a magazine reloader, but didn't do it because it's just 4 cans, and reloading the reloader just adds another step. The tolerances have to be tight because if they're not, the cans are able to rotate and get jammed. Even with just a single extra plate of space (1/3rd of a brick). The most forgiving design really is to just stack the cans vertically, which is why the real Lego version does just that. I might make an "infinite vending machine" that uses a clock escapement to just keep shooting out cans after you press a button once, and for that, I might use a vertical design. The hopper would be super tall and disguised as a chimney or something.
@whynotanyting
@whynotanyting 10 ай бұрын
@@TaranVH Ah, I see. It would be an extra step, but I can see it taking less time, especially if you get multiple preloaded at a time. That chimney idea would be a really clever use of the environment though!

Taran, for shipping and production cost, I can ship out stickers as small as what you want (got a Cricut been dying to use it.) reply if you're interested, if it works out, then I could sell the service for peeps who want to add custom decals (Please note, I'm based in the UK, so I recommend asking for a lot to mitigate the cost of shipping...) the cola swoosh looks like it might have a make cost of about 10p (13c) and a shipping cost of about £7.20 ($10) obviously if you do a lot of projects I recommend shipping at least 100pcs making shipping each item about 7p (10c) per piece which is more manageable. if it's only in the uk, I could get away with shipping at £2.60 (1st class) or 75p (2nd Class) which at 100pcs would have been about 2.6p (3.5c) per piece or 0.75p (1.4c) per piece. Obviously, the coca-cola logo itself would have a higher failure rate, would need a little more manufacturing time, so would probably be about 15p (18c) per piece with shipping still being the same. If it works out, maybe I can also sell graphic design services, Taran-cola anyone?

I miss playing with Legos:-/ On another note, what do you think of O’Neill cylinders? One of the things I thought about was integrating carbon nanotubes. The only way to integrate it was with huge cables or ropes, make it like a basket (or fence, as far as tightness of weave) to allow footings (essentially huge screws/tiles), girders, meshes of different size, and filler which I was hoping to either put graphene concrete, or a type of “plastic graphene” that could fill in cracks and fill everything in. The point was to incorporate carbon nanotubes and graphene in a way that you could pump out Cylinders fairly simply like an automated basket weaver and a Torus station would essentially be the “dry dock.” That was before Ariel Eckblaw self assembling tiles, which is a great idea, but would necessitate a solid steel cylinder. Before that, I had thought of essentially taking the idea of carbon fiber, different direction weaves with graphene resin, and scale it up so that a 5 or 10 foot diameter rope would essentially be the thread in a composite weave. Essentially the O’Neil Cylinder wall. The beauty about the cables/“rope” was that it would also serve to power everything like underground cables, and also have solid state (graphene) hyper capacitor storage at it’s core. What I wanted to do was make a scale model with essentially just plastic thread (plastic bags and jars), recycled metal, and concrete. The ideal thing is to take a scale model of what the stainless steel cylinder would be and test them out by spinning and firing sniper rounds at them. That would also mean having scale models inside and sensors throughout the models as they would in real life. The problem with scale modeling is that not everything behaves the way you think, especially once you scale something to 40 or 60,000 feet in diameter, with over 100 tons per square inch on top, besides moving it in space when you’re trying to maneuver into orbit with huge flywheels/gyroscopes. Look up Galvorn nanotube yarn and graphene versus steel and you’ll see what I mean

RE: Tolerance on coke cans being too tight to put labels. Unsure if this would constitute as an "illegal build" but you could sand down the cylinders the equivalent thickness of whatever decal you'll be applying. Hi Taran. Do you have any advice how can adjust audio duration in Premiere? I need to speed up audio for about 1 sec over 4h video to have it in sync. Thank you.
@TaranVH
@TaranVH 10 ай бұрын
hrm... export the audio only, then reimport onto a new track, and use the rate stretch tool to add that one second? the pitch will increase by a tiny bit. not ideal if you have music, but maybe probably fine for vocals. I wouldn't use the "maintain audio pitch" checkbox, I don't trust it for such tiny differences over such a huge span. Alternatively, you could just cut the audio like 10 times over the course of the hour and nudge it a few frames over each time. assuming you have multiple overlapping audio things, this would go unnoticed. Just do it at the end of people's sentences and stuff.
