The chuckle from Brian when you told him you had marriage classes 😝. My wife and I also took marriage classes, after the first sit down we walked out to the truck and laughed so hard we never went back. We’ve been married 23 years this October. 🤟🇺🇸

We took the required marriage counseling. Instead of weeks of classes we chose the weekend engaged retreat to get the pain over with as quickly as possible. Like ripping off a bandaid. It was on the hottest weekend of the year. No ac and we had Sunday services outside in the sun without chairs and nearly passed out from the heat. We learned what hell was like that weekend. Neither of us want to go to hell so we try to be good. 😇 At the time we laughed through it all and wished we didn't have to do it. We have been married 33 years and never looked back. We still laugh and joke with each other daily. We learned from that weekend we can survive just about anything together as long as we never have to do that again!

Never took any "marriage classes" and we are still married after 50 years. Some churches ( pastors ) want these but in the long run, if it is going to work it will and if not it won't... But it takes work on both partners, a lot of work...Good luck...

Cole if your worried about cramps, then you need some Gatorade or Bananas. Water won’t stop cramps at night. Since your sweating out the electrolytes that create cramping. But nothing like waking up to a cramp so bad you end up on the floor 😂

Not according to doctors. A constant intake of water throughout the day. Yes bananas help but water it what is needed. Gatorade actually slows hydration. Sugar requires water to metabolize. So as Gatorade is processed into the body it locks up a large portion of the available water in it. Have a snack bag of lays potato chips and a bunch of water. Be way better off.

I get it that by the time a video hits it’s too late, but something to consider for future pours…. Drill the edge of existing concrete the size of your rebar and extend pin it to the new slab. The slab always moves and shifts. Pinning it helps prevent one slab from lifting higher than the other.

ROD-WEAVING! Done it! ✔️ Dragged the rebar in from the oilfield. Dad cut it and my sisters and I had to “weave” them in and out like we were weaving a basket. We didn’t have any dirt, just had to fill in with pieces of rock we had broken with sledge hammers and other ‘trash’ like stuff for filler under and amongst the rebar. Of course we had to do this on the hottest day of the year. Made for a great patio floor though. GET READY TO POUR! That grain cart is massive! If you had set down in the AC, Cole, you would’ve just gone to sleep. Storla Station

Our family and friends built my parents house 20 years ago. We did everything from dirt work to concrete forms, rebar, pouring, finishing and everything on to move in. Concrete is a heavy hard job. Of course the work never stops. Our great friend, Tom, was a steel worker at that time. He grew up out in the country in Louisiana and always wanted to be a swamp man but ended up a jack of all trades from farrier to trucker to welder to construction. When we were doing the concrete work he shared some of his wisdom. "Don't wonder why. Just bend over and tie." He taught me how to tie rebar which doesn't sound that complicated but it isn't the tying in the heat and sun all day that was the lesson. It was the nuggets of wisdom, time working with the people we love and the pride of a job well done that has stayed with me. Every time I step into my parents house I am surrounded all the pride in hard work and sweat we put into that house. We love watching you Sonne's working together. You are an inspiration just like Tom still is to us. He retired to Montana and is in the middle of rebuilding his very old log and timber house. Every time we have to pick up something heavy we say we need a Jeff. Every time we have a cap or lid that is too tight to open it is Brian tight. The enthusiasm Cole has for hard work and learning new skills is infectious. Thanks for the great videos and sharing your lives with us. We look forward to every one.

Yep good marriage advice just do as the wife says! But seriously I’ve only been married almost 9 years and I would say the key is to respect each other and always work at it, it’s not easy but just remember why you got married in the first place. I love my husband so much and know I’m right most of the time but sometimes you have to back up and accept their opinions and decisions. Also remember you’re still 2 separate people so time on your own or with friends is just as important as making time for the 2 of you to spend together alone. I’ve got hilarious images of you falling off the bed now, my hubby did the same during a bedroom moment got cramp fell off the bed onto a plastic storage box, broke that made his back bleed and still crying from the cramp, what was I doing? Looking over the side of the bed in hysterics laughing at him 🤣 hope Tiff does the same xx

Lean and trim and muscles like you can’t believe!! It is not for the faint hearted to move that concrete and level it. I’m very proud of you guys😊❣️❣️Pretty funny when you speed it up a video to while you were tying re-run together. So, I'm curious, would it be of any benefit to pack down that rock/gravel layer before the concrete is poured? From a dumb city boy.

Good morning, Brian and Cole. Great work! 1-try tool dip to fix boot. Trim loose stuff. 2-hot sunny days. Long sleeve 100% cotton white shirt. Light colored hat. Keep sun off you to keep cool. I did asphalt work in my younger years. Then as a plumber spent many hot days doing underground. IT WORKS. Again, you both did great! Ed from Chicago 🙂👍

Here in houston the city makes us keep our rebars 1-1/2” to 2” away from edge of slab. This to prevent rust going in there over time

Doing concrete is a hard job in any weather or condition, you guys hung in there during the heat and gotter done, good job. I like what you did on the extension of the concrete for the storage area. There's the cutie Ellie again, she is a doll, would love to get one, mine passed, just not able to, yet. 😞 Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful weekend.
