Yup if your not finding any trash, the likely hood of someone else with a MD has worked it already, b/c I don’t believe the old timers or Chinese would thoroughly clean it out. Them people were not environmentally safe back in those days, unlike today’s prospectors. At least you came home with some gold, much better than I would have thought of. 2.45 grams to me would be considered to be an excellent day. Thanks Gary👍🏻

Hi Gary, I've been a detectorist for about 30 years. Just recently got into the hobby of gold panning after recovering from two heart attacks. I can honestly say that I have learned more from watching your videos than from anyone else to help me find gold here in my home state of Alabama. Different kind of gold here but your methods seems to work for here as well. Thank you for the videos. Please keep them coming.

Really enjoyed your 2.5 gram day on the creek. I'm thinking the gold there is just hiding from you. Also thought maybe the Minelab SDC 2300 would've been ideal in that situation. You could've used it in that little creek to see if the gold had retreated to the bottom there. Apparently those detectors are good to 3 metres underwater. Anywayz, great vid again Gary, looking forward to your going back there to do a little sniping :)

It's been a long time since I was that far south, but there used to be claims on the far side of the tidal mud flats, in the hills. A guy was trying to hire me to run a dredge out there in the eighties. If you have a boat go across and check the streams over there. Might be some areas not claimed.
