Working with the Grey Foxes!

Dimka is new here. He was a pet surrender. Grey foxes have a really hard time adjusting to new places. They typically take the longest to train-in.
The Grey fox species is actually my favorite species because they tend to bond to their people the best and can be the most affectionate foxes ❤

Nikita is by far my favorite out of all the foxes. Her character, gait and poise are on a completely other level. She’s absolutely adorable.

I love Grey's. There just like the aloof cousins of the Red's. Fun fact. The Grey Fox is the only member of the Canine family to climb trees in nature.

Im pretty sure gray foxes are way more rural and not used to human structures and humans, probably hardwired into them as well

I am many years away from having property and time sufficient for fox care... But that day will come. I love them so much. I am happy to know that the reward for my patience will be absolute knowledge of the species prior to caring for them, and then being able to give them the best home possible.

It is wonderful to see living foxes. Unfortunately in my area of the country the only foxes I see are not living. They tend to be roadkill. My heart breaks for them when I drive by their carcasses. Thank you for posting these videos. Its wonderful to see living foxes.

fun fact, Nikita is a russian male name. It most likely changed gender in the west after the release of Elton John's video for the song by the same title. The video stars a female protagonist but the lyrics are obviously speaking about Elton's attraction for some russian guy, probably a soldier or something.

Had a juvenile grey fox hang out in our backyard and in a out building for several weeks.. he/she interacted with our outdoor cats and our 2 pit bulls payed very little interest.. really cool to see how incredibly smart they are firsthand.
