World Asthma Day (WAD) is celebrated globally on the 3rd of May every year. The theme and focus for this year WAD is “Closing Gaps in Asthma Care”. There are a number of gaps in asthma care which require intervention in order to reduce preventable suffering and the costs incurred. Although asthma cannot be cured, it is possible to control symptoms and reduce or prevent asthma attacks or exacerbations.
Dr. Mangayarkarasi, a Consultant Respiratory Physician from Assunta Hospital would like to take this opportunity to create the necessary awareness and to educate the public about Asthma.
