WAW did actually have quick time events, the banzai charges. They never seemed like it because they were: Quick Simple Avoidable Used the same controls as the rest of the game And was thematically appropriate

I feel like one of the best things about it was the coop campaign, the fact you can play one of the best campaign COOP is amazing and it wasn’t really that fun when they reintroduced it in BO3 cuz of the campaign being lame and it sucks to see that they can’t have a coop campaign in these cod games now.

The old COD games didn't just have a campaign or a multiplayer that felt like it was rushed to try and get the game out on time or they weren't filled with stupid microtransactions they were just games that were good all around cause the developers actually cared about the players experience and not just making money so they would make games that had amazing campaigns and multiplayer experiences that we will always remember and zombies that makes us always want to come back and play again and again but its just sad how now developers only care about making their bank accounts bigger and couldn't care less honestly about the community and the fanbase of their games anymore instead of actually giving the us a good game but all we can do at this point in time is just hope that later down the line in the next couple of years shit will change and go back to how everything use to be in the good old days of COD but probably not

I would say we don’t get “evil” villains anymore because, well, evil because “I’m evil, I want to do evil things” is a boring motivation and leads to characters being one note. Look at Hadir from MW19- while he isn’t the main villain- Barkov is- he is by far the BEST villain in the game. Barkov is “bad for the sake of bad”- and he ends up being the one note Russian general who wants to oppress people because he can. However- Hadir does bad things, kills people, uses chemical warfare, and betrays his own sister- to stop Barkov, to free his country from Russian rule. It makes him an infinitely more interesting character and makes his turn much more affecting. Evil when done right is good- but evil without motivation, without reason, is typically one note (albeit, this can be done well if the character is written well). That’s why we don’t see it much anymore- and while I don’t necessarily think this applies to WaW, because the Nazi’s evil is historic, when creating a character like Menendez, or Hadir, you need character motivation for their evil to really make sense.

Reznov tells you to end them off or burn them alive. If you choose to end their life, Reznov says that it was mercy killing and that Chernov should learn from Dimitri's actions

I remember when my grandpa was baby sitting us one time and he had saw me playing WAW. He had told me that a game couldn't replicate what it was really like to be in a war. He scolded me for playing it and eventually locked me in the basement. I didn't understand why he was upset that I was playing it (I was in middle school at the time). Although while there is definitely truth to what he said, I still feel like World at War at least cared about honoring the veterans who gave their lives. And the tank mission was really fun. My grandpa served in Vietnam in an artillery division and was exposed to Agent Orange. Parkinson's developed within him as he aged and soon died during the pandemic last year. I still miss him dearly and can only imagine his disgust if he were to ever hear how Vanguard and WW2 portrayed violence and war compared to World at War.

This makes me think how we should’ve been playing each cod for at least 3 years. A new Call of duty was prolly the worst decision they ever made

The golden age of cod for me was cod 4 up to black ops one, and enjoyed myself up to black ops 2 but it was falling off slowly. But when it comes to time invested and could tell you about the campaigns not having played them in 8+ years. I remember vividly cod 4, waw, mw2, bo1 campaigns super memorable. The MP I always went for the highest prestige as I enjoyed all them alot and had too many hours on all of those games. open mics, talking trash, being up to 3 in the morning with friends on a school night was legendary. Plus zombies felt addictive. After bo2 the interest in cod died so hard and tbh so did the games. Will miss the golden days of cod and the community dearly. But me and millions of other were glad they were there experiencing those times and will never forget those memories :)

It seems that Lex didn’t listen to what The Act Man said about the dlc maps. He said they are still charging full price for 10+ year old maps, not that paying for dlc is bad. Plus, does he really think that if CW had paid maps that they would be any different from what they are? If the maps currently are terrible, imagine how much worse they would be if you had to get a $90 season pass for these same maps.

Zombies was the best aspect of WaW. But the MP and campaign was great too...at least until modders destroyed the MP. I was on PS3 so it didn’t happen as early for me but they got in their and ruined it eventually.
