That song is one of the hardest female songs in modern musical theater, with all the key changes, written riffs, and sustained held high notes. They did a fantastic job, especially with playing to her strengths. They knew that it would sound more powerful if they started from a lower place going up to a higher belt rather than vice versa. I applaud you, FABULOUS JOB!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!!! BRAVA!! Also, would you mind transferring to my hs so you could be in our school musical🤣

It was very good and smart choice to change up the notes rather than risk cracking or just not sounding good. People who don’t sing have no clue how hard it is to belt in your mix.

Commenting about all my favorite parts while I watch this: 1. That « now » was stunning, very open and very supported. 2. She sings some bits through gritted teeth, it makes for a very good tonal effect 3. The riff on « finish me off » was gorgeous, such good control 4: of course the « I wanna watch the world burn » bits are using different notes, not sure why, I’d assume to make them easier for this young lady. Nonetheless, it sounds beautiful despite not being as high. And it was a very good choice, her lowers notes are very powerful and makes for a good contrast to her speaking lines. 5: oh wow, that little flip into her head voice at the final « burn » was so beautiful and it totally adds to Regina’s character. It comes off a little whiny and sad, like she’s trying to push the fact that she’s the victim.

She sounds great! but why is the orchestration so slow? i imagine it makes it a lot harder to hold notes and hit them

I'm honored that this was recommended to me. Get her an agent and spot on Broadway now. As an actress myself, the control, range and everything is on point. Plus I'm a Mean Girls fan. I'm always pulling for people to be at their best when they perform these.

My high school’s theatre program did this show for the Spring Musical this past year. They do a play in the Fall, and a musical in the Spring. I was part of the backstage crew, in charge of moving props. What theater or school was this performed at?
