Not mentioned in the video but food, all beverages (alcoholic included) and excursions are part of the fare. It is an unique experience in the UK and Europe. Can’t wait to to experience the Royal Scotsman.

Beautiful, i just feel the diesel is a bit out of place on such classy train. Imagine this: The Royal Scotsman train pulled by the Flying Scotsman locomotive!

Apparently some of the lines on which the Royal Scotsman travels do not permit Steam engines

Also, my understanding is that a diesel is required to provide electricity to the coaches. So the kitchen, the lights and so n all require the Diesel engine

Finished my basement in the U.S.A. to honor the culture my grandfather brought here. We have a Scottish Pub basement, but I'm thinking the "Work Out space" might be more utilized if converted to a Flying Scotsman Train cabin place to sleep.

I agree that a refresh of the video would be welcome. Belmond should do another full length version of the Royal Scotsman experience. Some of the excursions are quite modern and they have a spa car now which is unique in Europe as far as I know.

I believe that vegetarian meals are available, but I would advise when booking to let them know you require this rather than on the day itself.

The staff at Belmond are top notch. My wife has culinary preferences which were taken on without complaint. High marks for the service. We’ll be traveling in 2023 for our 25th wedding anniversary and expect the experience to be excellent. Highly recommended.

Yes there is. In fact my Wife and I are going on their “Western Scenic Wonders “ tour this September. The Royal Scotsman is currently run by Belmond who also runs the Orient Express. We booked through the luxury train club.

I wish the guests would attire themselves in a more formal way. Coats and ties for the gentlemen and a fine dress or skirt or slacks for the ladies.

There are shorter journeys available as well. I think 2 days is the shortest one offered.

I found that the video was boring. I am disappointed that the narrator of the video did not tell us the kind of food they were served both on the train and elsewhere. From this video I would not take the train or go to Scotland.

Check out trek trendy’s video on his trip on the Royal Scotsman. It’s pretty recent and does describe the food in some detail. Cheers
