I played this song with Farndon and District/ Chester Brass Band along with 3 Choirs a Pianist, A Baritone and an Alto Singer to raise money for the Tsunami in 2004. Such a potent song.

Hayley has pitch perfect tone only one in 10,000 have this ! and must have been 24 when she sang this - born on 10 April 1987; angelic, a down to Earth kiwi girl, she is the essence of 100% Pure New Zealand-Aotearoa from Otautahi-Christchurch City. She used to busk in Cathedral Square, Christchurch with her younger brother and sister. I have had to go back to hear this fantastic rendition by Hayley with no other singer ever coming even close to matching it. New Zealand operatic soprano Kiri Te Kanawa recorded the first version of this song for the 1991 Rugby World Cup which the All Blacks won ; also 1987 and 2015 - I have the official ABs jersey to prove it :) for the 2023 Web-Ellis cup - Rugby World Cup hosted in France. The melody is from "Thaxted" - a hymn tune by the English composer Gustav Holst, based on the stately theme from the middle section of the Jupiter movement of his orchestral suite 'The Planets' and named after Thaxted, the English village where he lived much of his life.
