The very first winner at Boone was Wes Smith of Story City in a 55 Mercury. He made one lap and it rained! The promoter was Vern Carmen. I was part of Wes's crew 1967.

What no restrict plate ? On a slick track? HTF , wtf ? You need to talk to this man and tell him about your restrictor plate 101.. he’s only kicking everybodies asses without one…go figure.
