German heavies have armor , most german tanks are pretty accurate and they have plenty of tanks with good alpha . Hetzer , jpanther2 , ferd, jpg e100, E100 , skorp , Vk100.01 , Vk168.01 ... all those tanks and some more have more alpha than usual

Löwe is Premium, E-25 too and is not available any more. So we have three good tanks and five among then the worst ones. Soviets has dozens of excellent tanks and just one unpopular TD.

maus got nerfed again, e100? yeah with that nice 250mm turret front every t8 td pens, while the new russian heavies will get 330mm+ on the an super angleded turret, so basivalliy 500mm+ real armor. jagd e100? noob stomper, nothing more.

the tiger 2 is huge yet has about zero armor. the hull is ok except the lfp, sidescraping works good, turret sucks hardcore, everything penetrates your turret front, even some tier 6 prem can pen that front. turret roof gets overmatched by 122mm. the gun is verx accurate, pen is good, gunhandling is good, alpha is mediocre, dpm is mediocre. and the tiger 2 is slow and easy to hit.

But these tanks don't need a buff for sure... the russian meds needed it, because they were already op as hell anyway...

Agreed. It was good when it came out, but with the game changes and power creep of new vehicles, it just isn't very good anymore. The gun used to be great, now it's just good. When you take damage if the other team even breathes on you, it's hard to carry consistently. The Leopard 1 was always a tricky balancing act, but it's now been outclassed in everything that matters.

I've 3 marked it just for fun. I think Quickybaby will find it quite easy to 3 mark because you don't have to do much in every battle. Getting about 2,000 damage every battle is very impressive for the Churchill GC!

The gun's really the only good thing about it but in my opinion, it is the best gun on any tier VI tank destroyer. I imagine that WG would find it difficult to make this TD competitive, especially when it occupies such a trivial position in the tech tree.

No, it has only 89mm which means that a "high pen roll" on the KV-2's 152mm HE shell can penetrate and one-shot kill a Churchill GC. The Churchill GC's armour sits in the annoying spot in which it has enough armour to bounce (most) HE shells, but not enough armour to bounce anything else...

I'm kind of upset that I played it years ago before it got its buff. Even then though, I enjoyed the tank. It was one of my favorites when I played, and not just for the novel design.

I liked it too. It had pretty trollish armor at times which was one reason I didn't really mind it all that much. It is absolutely a support tank though... Just like all the rest in the line

The HD model made it harder to play, the armor went more flat compared to the old model making it harder to just wipe out low tier heavy and meds, but I still love it.

Wargaming has some strange obsession to Put the German Tanks a Tier higher than they should be on the tree and then give them a historically inaccurate gun to compensate. Take the Tiger I at Tier VII, This should be at Tier 6 but they put it at Tier 7 and gave it the 88 L70 which was never fitted. They also then had to give it lots of hit points to compensate. The Tiger 131 is a much better representation of the Tank with the correct 88 L56, and in my opinion what the tank should really be. Panther I, same story. Should be at Tier 6 with the 7.5cm L70. Arguably this is not a big issue for me at the VK30.02M is essentially this, but should be labeled as PANTHER. It just seams odd to me that the T34-85, Fireflys and Easy 8's were all equiped with a gun designed for engaging Tiger I's and Panthers yet in World of tanks they are available a Tier earlier than what they were designed to counter. Don't get me wrong, these should be Tier 6 tanks, but so should the Tiger I with the L56 and the Panther with the 7.5cm L70. Again the Tiger II is at Tier VIII, where it is outgunned in terms of Alpha, out maneuvered and lacks any sort of armor. They gave it a 10.5cm gun that never existed. Why not put this at Tier VII with the 88 L70 which not only historically accurate but will give it a fighting chance engaging tanks that are in its tier. I think they would have to decrease its HP points a wee bit but Wargaming and tweak these values.

what gets even more annouying is... A tier 7 german heavy is about as good as a tier 8 german medium... tier 8 german heavy about as good as a tier 9 german medium. this has added to the creep badly.

How about APDSFS rounds? and with the new vehicles coming in... look mause, its an M1A1... your gun can't touch it... but its can shread you... oh and what about the Leopard? well how about the Lepoard 2 with its 120mm? these are all things the Maus is expected to face... Maus Vs M1A1 Abrams... 200mm of steel vs 420mm of composit... 22kmph vs 50kmph... I think the Maus is suffering from creep...

kitsychan That's exactly why the Maus never left prototype testing. Germans knew it would cost way to much to maintain and produce while America and USSR were producing cheap effective tanks. Face it the Germans had expensive ass shit tanks that aleays had maintenace issues and broke down half the time while the Americans and USSR made cheap tanks that could compete with expensive unreliable German tanks. I dont know why everyone thinks Germany had the best tanks in WW2 when in fact most of the tanks they used were outdated and unreliable.

Yeah, an E100 cannot withhold the T54 or other tier 9 soviet tanks who shoot heat like they shit money. An E50M or Leopard 1 can't compete with the T62, Obj. 140 and so, their guns are not as fast firing and they simply have nothing what the T62 or so do not have too. Once, they had the most accurate guns in the game, now, they are tied to several other tanks.

The Maus is the worst of them all. I grinded all the way to that tank thinking I was going to be a boss but learned the hard way about the sad truth of the Maus. You are so slow that you can only side scrape in cities against other heavy tanks. You can't flank them with your horrible speed so you have to pen them frontally. Your gun's penetration sucks so you have to fire premium rounds to pen the heavy tanks frontally. You bounce 5 to 8k damage from your opponents per match but don't make any credits for bouncing shots. Eventually HEAT spammers just lol at how well you side scrape, because HEAT rounds give zero fucks about angles.

It’s a Tier X Tank, and should be very strong. I don’t discount QB’s theory that inexperienced players could be contributing to the low win percentages, however at Tier X, players are usually very knowledgeable, with experienced crews. That leads me to believe that the German Tanks are subpar to the competition they are meeting.

+Connor Kerrigan I think you are right, some Lines of the German Tech Tree seem like they are 1 Tier to high settled. Up to Tier 5 German Tanks have average Winrates around 50%, but then it falls heavy. The E100, E50M and Leopard Line need to be reworked. Take the VK 30,02M out of the game, replace it with the Panther and Panther II, (Tier 6 & 7). Tier 8 the E50, Tier 9 the E75, Tier 10 E100. Its a more historical accurate line. Take out the Indien-Pz and replace it with the Leo PT A, Tier 9 Leo 1, Tier 10 Leo 1A4 or Leo 2 PT. Make a seperate line from the E50 to the E50M (Tier 9) and round it up with the swiss tank Panzer 61 that was constructed after the E50 design. And then we Have German Bias.

Tobias Sczakiel you have to play the Leopard PTA and Leopard 1 like a Lightly Armored TD. Playing them requires patience and the ability to resist the map pingers. Currently neither of these Tanks are Brawlers. If you play the PTA or the Leopard 1, you must control the pace of the encounter and maintain distant to insure survivability.

Indeed, many a time I've gotten 1500dmg+ in games, but it's a marmite tank, you either do amazing or you die in first 30 secs or you roll and explode (more since last patch) but it's fun, counter for it is the US lights, frontally they can't do shit vs them unless gold ammo.

The Tiger 1 is super bad at tier VII because it has no armour so the Tiger II at tier VII would be a good replacement IMO. Everytime I face a Tiger II in my T29 I am able to take it down with ease

What you said is right, in fact I thumbs up your comment. But to me its not a matter of having armor or not, its about balancing out the stats. I.e. A tank with poor armor should be able to accelerate faster or a tank with poor gun handling should have higher alpha damage. I have both the E50M and Leopard 1 and honestly I think most of the time its about play style. In the E50M I would always be at the middle of my team and provide support fire to those in range and if the frontline fails I will be the one to maintain the mid line and act as a distraction to the SPGs in my team (note that I did not say TDs cause those buggers would always camp beyond the vision line and shoot nothing at all). To summarize, it is a tank with above average overall stats. While in the Leopard 1 I would take the role of a reconnaissance scout. Spot with maximum view range, retreat and snipe. Honestly the few redeeming features that makes it still playable are the view range, the accuracy while at a standstill and the above average camo rating. Sure, you may not be the main contributing factor to a win but you will definitely be able to be the little clown that nobody knows is actually a murderer. I do quite well in the Leopard 1, 2k average damage and a few 5k and 6k games ... but it is as you said, it needs some buffs - or rather a revert back to its old stats where it has decent acceleration and soft stats to actually make it have a place in the power creep thats occuring in the game now.

They should just give it the best soft stats in the game, like, zero dispersion on movement.

I think, you´ve just nailed it. While there are some objectively bad tanks on this list, i think, that at least half of theese tanks should be preforming much better, but they are either noob magnet (Tiger II), or just require differnet playstyle, to which players which grew up on easy to use tanks (IS-7 line, jap. heavies, etc.) can´t get used to. Theese tanks are great but quite difficult to use for average player, because the current general playstyle don´t suit them well and they need different aproach to uncover their potential.

Yes i think this is true. They are just hard to master. I like the Panther 8.8 and the Tiger2 very much. I have good games in them. But anyway it's clear that in a 1:1 with a Defender, you can see where they are struggling. Some little buffs would be anyway welcome. But at the end i think it's not about bad tanks, it's just about the player and how they can handle it. I have to admit that in some of the best tanks by win ratio, i struggle and i think for myself how they can have such a good ratio. But at the end it's just me and so i even have to get better or just change to the tanks i know to play. Anyway have all still fun with WOT and happy new year 2018!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is even if you know how to drive the Tiger 2 or tanks like it, it's still a bad tank because of it's retarded combination of statistics. It's too big (the Tiger 2 is slightly SHORTER than an M4 Sherman and only about a track width wider irl, but WG is either retards or can't stand that the Germans knew how to build tanks) and heavy for it's armor and it's gun has a shit combination of acc, pen, damage and rof that doesn't let it snipe or brawl effectively.

I always found it odd that I personally had a higher w/r and average damage on my leopard 1 than my other tier 10s. Then again, when the game first released german tanks were the shit, and I started on german TDs even.

In my opinion tanks that have to be played from greater distances and/or rely on mobility are worst for winrate. Game is not only about damage - I have for example higher DPG in LeoPTArd before it was buffed than in T-54, but T-54 has great respect because it can't be reliably penned by tier 7 or light tanks and it had by far better gun handling. It's tank that can block some damage, fight over map control and buly lower tiers. On the other hand, Leoptard was yoloed and ammoracked by every autoloader when it was in first line and that basically ruined the game and I feel like camping, relocating to camp elsewhere and farming later game damage is bad for winrate, especially when you are matched against M46 Patton, T-54, E50 or Škoda T50. Tier9 Leopard was basically made to lose any close to mid range combat, while Patton was made useless sniper, but very strong close support tank, that relies on not being exposed much or too long. I found 2nd role much more useful.

In WoT there isn't any historical accuracy. They literally added tanks from an anime. Not to mention all the fake tanks they added. Also the Tiger 1 plays more like a medium so you prolly should side scrape with it. The tiger 2 and E75 are gods in that sense. I loved the tiger 2. I feel like Wargaming has a huge russian bias because those tanks are super OP.

There's a Jagdtiger (H) model ready in the game files. It has the 12.8 cm gun mounted from the Ferdinand. WG also talked about that they were going do something about preferential tanks. I think they will replace the Jagdtiger 8.8 with this one, but it's just a thought.

My 8.8 is my single best money earner. And wins matter. I do dislike getting in a match with more than 3 tier 9's. But usually have little to no concern about 8's. I just am intentional about protecting my lower hull.

I mean the russian tanks were thrash in ww2, it just show how they're against german tanks being superior which they clearly were against any russian tank. The germans were much more advanced technologically what did you expect?

It was faster, better armed, better armored AND did not freeze up, could drive through snow and mud (the Germans' called it 'the snow king') and was cheaper and easier to make and maintain.
