World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic Review

When it first came out back in 2010, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was an expansion that essentially brought an end to what many would consider the “classic” World of Warcraft.
It bought sweeping changes to the entire leveling experience for characters between 1 and 60, while also changing just about every aspect of how a class played. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic’s release might stretch the meaning of the word “Classic” to quite an extent.
It still manages to be different enough from modern-day World of Warcraft to justify its existence, however. It certainly helps that the entire expansion has quite a few interesting stories and fun boss fights to take part in along the way.

Cataclysm was a very weird expansion. I understand that their intention was to take the story to the next chapter by destroying the old world. But then again they also left Outland and Northrend untouched. So if you're levelling up from level 1, the story line and the experience you will be having will be very bizarre in Cataclysm. Firstly, you won't know what happened in the original Azeroth. You will be following the storyline that happens after WOTLK in the 'new' Azeroth. So from levels 1-58, you are following the post-WOTLK storyline. Then, you are asked to go to Outland, which is post-Original storyline. Then, you will go to Northrend, which is post-TBC storyline. Finally, you will come back to Azeroth and finish levelling up. So the story felt completely broken to new players and old players who levelled up alts. Chronologically, it's 4-2-3-5. And there is no 1 (Original Azeroth storyline) since the old world is gone. And this bizarre storytelling keeps continuing in Retail. Some may find it trivial but from a 'sane' point of view, this is actually a very weird storytelling. And Blizzard kept it like that until Shadowlands.

It’s weird to review expansions after they first launch and we’ve only got to play the first 5% or so.

I stopped playing classic now that cata is out. Literally no reason for this to exist when you can still play cata in retail. The entire point of classic was to see the old world again. They should’ve gone classic+. If you want to play cata go play retail.

Retail is prolly balanced better than teh mess they just released. The rush rush rush people from retail came over and are takign their rush rush ruhsh attitiude with them. The cata classic healing and pace is a lot different. It is slower and healer tend to drink often just like in previous expansions. But the game is a cessp[it of degenerates who are really bad bad people. I mean sociopath kind of bad. Screwing you over in rolls kind bad with no thought abotu who they are screwin over to get the loot. They will disenchant teh shit before you very eyes when you need it. It is bad. And the fricken kids have mouths on them. OMG.

Just another classic Andy who wants to talk bad about cata while not wanting to admit that more people enjoy this version of the game then boring slow vanilla. Classic cata is great. Don’t let this classic Andy keep you from trying it yourself.

i love this expansion and for those who really want classic, there is 3 version of wow right now. Classic Classic Cataclysm Retail Dragonflight so i think there is something for all taste, i like how they do it, personally i play cataclysm and dragonflight
