The Bat Totem in the island is a Shrine for Hir'eek , the bat Loa. Is quoted in one of the short stories.

Just a shout out to my boy Death Flayer, who shared skins with Sarkoth. He was one of the coolest scorpids in the entire game during early Vanilla, due to his battle speed (which sadly got nerfed). He also had both "Claw 2" and "Scorpid Poison 1" which at level 11, was pretty damn handy for a Hunter. Hella hard to tame if you were below level 13, but doable. I ALWAYS grabbed him as my first Hunter Pet, for all my Horde Hunter Toons. :) Thanks for the great vid ( as well as the others) my Buddy!

I think dancing Duakna is a reference to players. Ive seen a lot of people just run into a place and jump on tables and start dancing before running out.

In Skull Rock there is also another named mob that used to drop a quest item. The item still drops but is of grey quality and no longer used. The dark skinned orc if you look at his model closely is actually the Alpha version of male orcs. Similar to the release version playermodel, but with key differences in quality, pose and armor.

I'm betting that bat effigy is meant to be the bat loa Hir'eek which we eventually met during a horde quest in Nazmir.

Yea, another comment pointed out that the same asset is used in Stranglethorn, so it's definitely Hir'eek. I will eventually make a "WoW Easter Eggs I Missed" video and mention it there!

@@FullMotionVideos I believe it was the novel Shadows of the Horde (set during MoP and follows Vol'jin recovering from the attempt on this life) that revealed that another loa the Darkspear worship predominantly alongside Bwomsamdi was Hir'eek. So it does make sense that a tribute to the Loa of Bats would be on the Echo Isles. As for stranglethorn, Hir'eek was once captured by Hakkar and his followers during the Blood Gods first attempt to be summoned into Zul'Gurub. As Hir'eek was a major Loa worshiped by the Gurubashi Empire (which the Darkspear were once apart of until that whole Hakkar incident).

Gar'thok is low lvl in World Of WarcrafT, but, in WC III Founding the Durotar, he was high level and strong guy who defend the Razor Hill.. :(

4:03, for one day in 2002 an Orc Warrior named Krogual threw himself off this cliff for two hours consistently. Rumor has it: It was an employee of this Krogual who was so mad at his boss he spent two hours of his Off-Time using this as a way to vent his frustration.

Or a tauren died and its upper body was washed ashore. Also the bat totem is for Hir'eek, a loa worshiped by the Darkspear and who aided Vol'jin.

Fun fact about the pickaxe of Thrazz-Rill. When vanilla servers first re-launched for classic WoW you could find a queue of low level horde standing in line and awaiting their turn, one-by-one to grab the pickaxe and finish the quest.

I travelled from Dun Morogh to Durotar as a level 15 Dwarf hunter to tame Deathflayer back in the day. I swear to god I would spend days doing anything other than levelling.

@11:50 so death flayer was one of the first rare mobs that you could tame that had a faster than normal attack speed. Also, pre cata there were "corrupted" board raptors crabs and scorpions. That all had color shifted models but werent "rare spawns" just slightly stronger versions of the similar originals near by.

A little surprised you didn't mention Bom'bay (a jungle troll witch doctor). He's a reference to Doctor Bombay in Bewitched. One of his quotes "Eekum Bokum" is also a quote from Mumbo Jumbo (Banjo-Kazooie)

The Troll graveyard thats been dug up looks like a reference to the mass grave robbery in South America. The mummies are sitting in an upright position with their knees drawn to their chest and inside a woven basket, just like some ancient South American burial rites.

Ohh! Good catch! I know the Darkspear are sort of an amalgamation of elements paying tribute to cultures from South America and Africa, so that would make a lot of sense

in Skullrock cavern there is also unique-looking ork, with a unique drop - it was a quest in classic, that was removed also, there are a couple of quests with Spiketooth - and for one of it, he promises you a couple of gold - but give just a couple of silver. Just a neat little moment :)

The centaur were actually ever present in the Warcraft series as the native species of Kalimdor and sworn enemy of the Horde, especially the Tauren. They are kind of like house flies for the players: annoying, easy to deal with, but at the same time, inevitable.

I hate that they removed those shaman quests. Blizzard should add some kind of toy to each of those shaman stones, when you walk up and interact with them. To at least give people a reason to visit the location. Maybe a toy that turns you into the particular element for a short time or something.

Man, I'm watching these videos a few years after you uploaded them now, but they really make me miss the class quests and things that gave more flavour and fantasy to the playing experience. Legion recaptured it a bit, but then went a bit too far in making our characters the pinnacle of our class, and making everyone involved basically neutral even when it didn't make sense. Just things like night elf priests having the spell Starshards, and others having similar made the game feel more alive.

I absolutely love it when they use some of the voice lines from Warcraft 3 characters. It adds much more variety to the world. Already know quite a few of these, but there were some that surprised me. I had no idea that there were some surviving Kul Tiran sailors at Tiragarde! Or that Grandmatron Tekla has been abandoned, no longer able to save her. Glad I helped her when you still could.

I miss the class fantasy/flavor quests and items/rewards! I think Blizzard made a mistake by removing them! In fact, they should have added more! I'm grateful that I started playing in WOTLK, and was at least able to do most, if not all of those quests on a handful of different characters, before Cataclysm launched! Including the long, somewhat expensive, Blood Knight Charger quest chain! Despite the fact that I'd already had my level 40 Paladin Mount for a long time prior to doing the quest chain! 😹 It also rewarded Blood Elf paladins with a Blood Knight Tabard that I think become easy and cheap, if not free, to get once Cataclysm launched! I especially loved the paladin/Blood Knight class quests that I did on my paladin! I love this channel. You're definitely helping to push me to go grab my laptop, to download Wow again. May as well have something to kill time with, for the rest of the Winter! 😺

The skeleton at Zalazanes fall is troll, not human. I always assumed it was supposed to be Zalazanes remains, or at least a reference to him being killed there.

The goblin's quest outside org is horde as of like legion or something. It use to be for both factions but was later changed, years after cata. I don't know exactly when, but I do know you can't do the quest as alli anymore.

The black scorpion, is in wrath classic the beast one "young orc" (most likely also troll) hero will have to kill, as one troll did try to kill it, but got stung and sits below a tree weakened

Given their experience with centaurs in WC3, I don’t really find it *that* outrageous that they used one’s skin. For all we know he might have killed a friend or brother. Centaur (until dragonflight) were universally violent.

Bears mentioning that the warlock den was more overtly evil because the warlocks had an uneasy alliance with Thrall at the time, who was generally against dark magic.

You should do a classic and current comparison, show the things that have changed and maybe a little info when they changed and why if you know, but otherwise just contrast and compare the environment of classic to current

Clicked to see if that flame totem shrine was mentioned and yup. Tauren shaman was my first character and I tried following the quest log but had to come back what feels like weeks later to try and find it again. Managed to but I rolled without that flame totem for a bit longer than I should have. I found the water shrine by accident though while just wandering and exploring.

Gonna add on that I did run to southern durotar and did the echo Isles quests. Thought the island was cool as well as the witch doctor who would cast random spells on you back in sen'jin.

At 10:20 you mention the character K'waii. Now, with the apostrophe the name can potentially be two different things in Japanese. Kowai which means scary and sounds very similar to Kawaii when spoken, or Kawaii which means cute.

The bat totem on the echo isles is likely to honor Hireek. The bat loa. Loa being powerful beings typically taking the shape of animals that the trolls worship as gods.

4:55 Bears and Tigers are sentient beings, so it is pretty fucked what humans do in real life as well. Arguably, humans are more fucked up than does Warlock quest in the back of the den.

It's sad how much have been removed. I understand the need to streamline the leveling especially after the level went above 100 but why not just let the players explore who want to and the rushers can just skip and move on. They skip everything else anyway.

Not all are really Easter eggs, more like interesting facts or places, some dare just removed quest things. Those that count as Easter eggs were good.

Fair enough! I kind of catagorize interesting facts and places and those sorts of things as secrets and easter eggs, but I definitely see how others wouldn't!
