Very valid suggestions here. I'm adding a very basic yet crucial one: ALWAYS LOOK AT THE MINIMAP

6: If you are in a ship with guns that rotate slowly (BBs and maybe Japanese DDs (torps), make sure your guns are pointed the right way. If you have to pull a u-turn while undetected, try to rotate your guns before you pull the u-turn so they are ready when you ship has turned. You don't want to get caught with your guns pointed the wrong way.

and shooting back at the enemy helps too. you would be surprised how often people forget that small detail.

I think this is the number one mistake I make and get punished for over and over. I go stern in with my Russian BB. If the push happens it great. But most often. I look up..all the team mates on that side are dead and now I’m alone. Now I have to show my side to try to run and get dev striked. Great tip.

Gonna throw my take on this great info as someone who has been putting a lot of effort into getting good. AA - yes AA is crap for the most part, but I've played CVs and downing planes is useful over time, good CV play involves knowing when to throw squadrons away and when to save them, generally you want to save them. So be good with your AA, if you can stick with another ship do because this makes you a less favourable target and will help to keep the CV at bay. Stern in - this is also extremely useful, just watch your position and speed as its very easy to over shoot and end up way too far back, meaning you suddenly are either out of range, out of effective range or have to go broadside and turn. Escape plan - always, always look at the map as often as possible, think of where you want to be in 3 or 5 minutes time, not just your next turn. Think about where you would want to be if you are the red ships and where you can be safe or isolate individual fights. Reticles and interfaces - just do what SLM says, get that full interface active and find a reticle you like, look at modstation - it's official mods and has some great reticles like smart horizon and nomogram, these scale by zoom and your guns so no more different leads depending on your guns, just a solid consistent tick marker - modstation also has great tools like BigNav which show extra details (angle in the case) or other mods to give you ship stats ie speed that help in aiming (none will give you auto aim , but they can give you the tools to aim more consistently ). Overall the only missing tip is that you should also look at the map very frequently and take in what it tells you, see the other flank collapse? You need to find a way to push, other flank is crushing it? Defend and wait for the crossfire or push if you somehow have the advantage. This game is slow most of the time, use that to plot your way to victory.

The biggest improvement to my gameplay was when I started to use the Momogram Modern dynamic crosshair which is available in the Modstation. The scale is so much more accurate in helping you choose how much lead you need. Also make the minimap as large as possible and use it to aim for those really long shots.

Side note on the over shoulder shots & speed changes, people are hopefully reading smoke stacks and gauging speed on how much and which way the smoke is going.

I've been using Type 8 crosshair forever. Granted it's set for 20kt speed, but I've been using it long enough to know where to aim for what ship going at what speed. The angled lines help line up shots on kiting or pushing ships.

What you say: Go stern in and angle What my team understands: OkOk go broadside all the time What you say part 2: if the enemy is too strong start kiting What my team understands: if there is any resistance start running and completely abandon this flank without fighting

These are solid suggestions... applicable to all.... A tip I'd add.... before dropping torps.... check the minimap for allies near your torp path... Oh yeah..... one other thing..... try not to be the first ship spotted.

Regarding the reticle i've played since the beginning with the dynamic one and never looked back since then, and so i've developed a pretty good feeling/instinct of how fast, how much lead and aiming higher and lower i should take, and even if the dynamic reticle doesn't give informations about vertical aim, i use the crosshair on the minimap coupled with the line of direction that the ship i aim is following to aim, so yeah, i'm don't think i'm gonna change crosshair soon

You are wrong about aa, it got a massive buff, flak puffs are spawning much more close to eachother now. Fighters are actually attacking now. The only cv that can always dodge is hakuryu at t10, it has the best handling planes by far. Fyi: I'm unicum/superunicum in haku, midway and mvr. Didn't get audacious yet to comment about her but her planes have more hp then midway while being faster at the same time, imo audacious is the most broken cv. (I refer to broken as: gives you the least counterplay/minimizing damage taken for every plane shot down or dodging)

i suggest find a single target, destroyers with torpedoes is probably our total weakness and be sunk by a destroyer or any boat that has torpedoes. and with battleships like my iv Wyoming make your turrets ready to shot. with AP or HE. practice aiming. good sailing to all.

Kiting in German BB's with secondary build is surprisingly powerful. If there is no DD stealth chasing you, you can adjust your kiting speed so that you keep the closest enemy right at your secondary range. They will often have hard time damaging you more than you damage them, you just have to forget that you have front turrets. In one game I spawned as a bottom tier on the weak side in Bismarck, and managed to pull out when our two other ships got sunk and the flank collapsed. Went on to pull 3 BB's and a cruiser behind me (though one BB died pretty early, maybe before the kiting even started properly), and I survived to the end while they died to my secondaries and back turrets, and our strong flank's crossfire. Actually, I think this is one of the rare occasions where the German secondaries are still worth it.

Actually, on the AA tip, keep in mind, if you boost the off-sector, yes, they might spend more time there after the strike, but that is not just obviously kind of useless when it was their last strike of a squad, but more importantly (for ships with bad AA), you lose your damage dealt on activation of priority sector. Ships with poor AA might actually get more out of that than out of the additional AA dps.

For the interface one i have an addition to that. I use my alt key for that. When not used i only see the ship type. But when pressed it shows everything. So when not in use my screen isn’t so full and i can use it when i want when i need some more info. 😄

Hey, GREAT tips. I used this stern first angling today, on ocean map. T10 game, Enemy had NC, Sig and Thunderer, first 2 half health or less, Thunder 3/4 or better. Us: Lion 3/4 and me in Tallin 3/4. Lion takes out NC, other 2 take out him at same time and I take sig. I cap, but visible at 11K but reversing and 1st salvo goes over. I run with 1 min left. Clock runs out with me resetting cap with shots on Thunderer. He took half my health, but no citadels and we win on points, me with 3 ships, high xp (2 dd) in a T8.

Bow in or side not really good. imho, Have an escape plan like turn away while shielded by an island, yes, very much yes. Setting position to inch a sniper backwards in to the fight, I can see it in some ships. turn tail and run at the first sign of the enemy???? No cap no win, no support for elements fighting for cap, no cap no win, Thinking you a better player because u hide in the back while your buddies get slaughtered absolute fail on many levels. Sure u can "snipe" while your teamies fight for cap, live long and wrack up a lot of points to convince yourself you are the smart one, did I mention no cap no win? I've adopted the stern-in method ever since I subbed you and it works pretty well.

Here is a tip from me. When in a BB and you know there is a DD in the area targeting you then you should do a manouver i call crazy Ivan, its when you suddenly change your course every 20-30 seconds, this way it is much harder for DD to aim his torps. Saved me loads of times when i could not see an DD but i was still spotted.

I can give you 1 tip to solve your problems. quit this damn sitting duck camp in the back of the map game for good. they really screwed the game hard.

Using AA when the planes are coming at you can destroy some of the planes that are going to attack you and cause you to take less damage.

Man I love your videos and I agree with your tips except one thing... even though commander rework isn't wargaming's greatest update I find my self shooting way more planes with my cruisers ( des moines , Worcester line , generally the AA skills work .. at least more than the last patches except from the secondary builds that you mentioned )

after 2 mins when you hit the wall in land and go reverse in the video the video shows you in stop and then shows you reversing and then going forward with the throttle bar still indicating stop from about two minutes forward. Seems sus AF. Please explain.

I occasionally have a problem with my Reticle changing mid-battle. I don't know what key I might have hit to change it, nor do I know how to switch it back to the one i'm used to. I end up having to just do a lot less damage that game, until I die. Next game, its back to normal. explanation or suggestions welcome.

I'm new and the map size still catches me of guard. It's very small compared with a FPS. I think WOW Legends would benefit from a tile bigger map, cause I think that's why many new players end up "rushing". Sometimes you sail 10 secunds forward and get spottet without any available cover. Also 40$ for a premium ship isludicrous. They must be targeting whales.

6th helpful hint, Don't slice the main brace too many times while playing.

Sadly a lot of BB player just can't do the "Tanking" now since they're way in the back of the maps shooting other BB and cruiser while ignoring the DD, which is closer and possibly more important to shoot at, and misses like 70% of their shell, while still running away to the edge of the map, and start blaming everyone else, especially DD, as useless and doing nothing when they died while screaming "Tanking is not meta anymore".

I was in a ranked game yesterday. I said the following while sneak capping. "italian BB, can you please support the A cap, no reds so you are useless over here" He then shot me and said "wait till you see how useless I can be" and powered to the far corner of the map. I had two caps and an assist, three kills, it was a loss but at least I did not lose my star.

Okay, I've been playing this game 3 years now and never knew you could set your priority AA sector to the other side. How do you do it? I just press O and it goes to the side the attackers are coming from. What do you do to change this?

Try to stay in the lower tiers and learn the game there, play more classes, see how they perform and how to counter them. I'm tired seeing people rushing to tier 10 in just 500 games, dude I got my first tier 10 after 3k game and it wasn't even a tech tree one.

This game has an extremely Steep learning curve. Wargaming doesn't really explain any tips on how to improve your gameplay and other players would rather tell you to "Uninstall Idiot" or my personal favorite " Shit team learn to play!!!", also does this work on Lower tiers? because you're only explaining these tips while doing it with tier X or IX what about tiers V-VIII?

Aircraft carries seems very out of place. It's PvE in a PvP game. At least have some hard counter. Submarines don't fit into the "stone, scissor, paper" either. I imagine WG are just gonna try to milk whales until the next game. These large companies all hire the same scummy suits to put the squeeze on.

what was the key for the sector AA defense? u got a case of mush mouth and mumbled that bit..... ive tried replaying it with volume up over 5 times and couldnt make it out what u tried to say. when your recording and verbally speaking 1. do not eat or drink. 2. chewin on a wad of paper is never good. 3. foreign body appendages should be zipped up and avoided. 4 speak clearly and slowly.... Captain Jack is the worst at this and with his heavy accent.... he doesnt sound cool... he is also doing meth or some form of speed because no matter how many people have asked him to slow down he just doesnt seem to care... junkies... what can u do ? serious tho... i know u point ur camera in the direction u want to select then u press 0 or ' but what does the letter O or is it a Zero do? very confusing.
