What I really like about this is the fact that you're playing on a Realistic tier which is no higher than VIII, all these other "Tips and tricks" videos are mostly from players that are Tier X and don't go any lower than IX which doesn't make sense at all because a new player, let alone someone who's trying to improve isn't going to be that high of a tier since the newbie ensigns aren't even winning battles or making enough of a difference to have enough credits to be able to afford those Xs and IXs realistically.

I'm a very new player, these tips are very helpful. I'm currently playing cruiser, but looking to expand, but I'm f2p, so going to take me awhile to get the credits to explore other ships.

I never thought about the first one so much in this context, I was sort of using what I know historically about 19th century naval stuff where I was using broadsides and raking the stern and bow. I kinda forgot these guns can actually spin unlike cannons Those tactics kinda work here but I realised very wuickly to not be afraid of showing them my stern and bow

the importance of positioning in WOWS is so different from anything I thought I knew of "realistic" naval tactics used by IRL warships, and in more simulation-style games I've played like Atlantic Fleet or War on the Sea (or even Battlestations: Pacific), it's a big adjustment!

So basically, keep your bow to the target , don't get caught side-on, stay with you fleet and don't get caught alone?

In the last part you saw the lot of the enemy team clustered in one spot. So no matter what those 2 BB would do - it was a loss already. So in some sense they made a "mistake" but in another sense, their team made a mistake first and the bb players saw it and just threw in the towel. Those of us players who play for a win, when we see such non positioning of the whole team lose interest and tend to go yolo when the battle is lost, but most allies do not recognize it yet. Many others in such situations might also recognize the defeat and keep on as long as they can to pad their stats a little. But not those who play for the win.

I'm having now ~200 battles and I most of the times went broadside to enable all my turrets to fire. Of course I received heavy hits and got f'd buy uboats. I now tried to engage face forward and I still get f'd by uboats. It's something about the uboats.

What do hits to citadel do?

citadel is a armored box on the side of the ship's hull, there you got your machines and magazine spaces. When you use a AP shell against it, the shell will explode inside of the armored box and cause a massive damage, but it works better when you hit ships with a thick armor, since the AP shell must penetrate to blow up inside the ship.

I'm brand-new player, trying to figure out what you're talking about. I think I get the jist, point your bow at the enemy, don't give them your broadside, but It would be helpful if you could define some of the jargon. Not totally sure what you mean by "bow tanking, giving up skirt, overextending and other such terms."

Bow is the front of your ship and he wants you to take as many hits straight on as you can. When he talks about giving up skirt he means exposing your side.

Yea if your in a lower tier bb with a high tier cv sitting will get you spanked .But yea always bow tank but you also have to know when to skate if your outnumbered when you team already abandoned you lol.

That's the moment you know you've fucked up as a BB player. Nothing you do at that point will save you. Yes being aggressive and being the damage piñata will help you're team win especially if you're dishing out the same in return or more, but being the sole focus of whatever enemies are on that flank will sink you before your first heal has finished. Especially above tier 8.

I've played off and on for about 3 years. Never, not once unlocked a battleship until today. I began fully dedicated to Destroyers until I was good enough that people threatened to report me for cheating. LOL. I guess when your skill is confused with cheats and aimbots, you're pretty good. Figured it was time to try the big boys, and I'm liking your videos.

I don’t got any strategy. If I was playing with friends on a voice call the smart guy who’s most likely of Asian decent can boss me around and I’ll do good. But I don’t have friends. I’m not good with strategy so my only strategy is to blow things up and blow them up real well. I’ve already learned not to try and go with all my guns if I’m close so I won’t do that. But that’s it. I’m still gonna run around and shoot things like I do with everything. My brain just isn’t good for this kind of thing. That’s why I’ve been playing farming simulator so much. But this is a more calm game so I can still relax and have fun.

Biggest tip ever for you, play this game yes but... do not pay for anything as the team selection is BS broken. you can spend months building up your ships only to go out and lose 6-7 and more games in a row. WOW are ripping players off.

you say beginners guide buy halfway through the video you stil havent explained any of the KM or time watch distances in the middle of the screen, AP vs HE or any of the basics

This was kind of helpful but not for me. You keep saying you need to know when to show skirt and when not to without ever giving an explanation for when it is a good idea and when it isnt. Then it is just examples of when they are getting lit up by 2 or 3 allied ships and are screwed with no real tactical evaluation of what is happening.
