I feel the worst offended is Tirpitz. What’s her point now? Armor? Nah HE still burns you down way too easily. Guns? Yeah, I will leave it at that? Secondaries and torps? Not unique and has even worse than the BCs or even Brandenburg. She doesn’t have hydro either, unlike the BCs. Tirpitz needs a severe revamp

I missed a broadside Montana with all 8 shells from my Bismarck at 7 km. All shells went high or low. Got back to port and sold it. And every shell landed between the front and rear turrets of the Montana, so it wasn't a matter of bad lead.

Same happened to me with Siegfried from 4 KM Broadside COnqueror: Spalshes went perfectly center of the ship 2 went high and 4 went low perfectly missing entire ship. Siegfried should have exceptional accuracy. I have noticed that intense vertical dispersion on Zieten I am grinding now. Shots from same turrent might leave from barrels enough disparsity to fit Yamato between shells. Its frustrating.

German turrets are wide because they never designed loading mechanisms compact enough to fit in between the guns so they went with two-gun mounts rather than 3 or 4. The only exception to this was Scharnhorst and its sister ship. The larger guns also used a brass case for the main charge for firing which made the mechanism more complex and larger. Other nations used silk bags for holding the propellant which were smaller because of it so the loading mechanism was also smaller and more compact to fit between the guns.

Sea lord yall on pc need to ask for the secondary battery reload boost we have on the console version asap. The enhanced secondary battery targeting consumable we have on pc is AMAZING For 30s you get: +100% secondary battery accuracy +50% secondary battery dispersion. Its a damn good consumable, german bb mains dont even pick spotter with that on the same slot. IF a dd pops up next to a german, american, italian(all italian bbs on console get SAP secondaries btw), and French bb with the secondary booster, they just get melted, i have a 30 sec video about it on my channel, and man, its real good.

Gneisenau and Scharnhorst with a Main Gun build is outrageously well armored for their tier. Having an icebreaker bow at a tier where every BB overmatches each other (except KGV), along with an armor belt that is somehow thicker than the Bismarck, is very durable. With some decent DCP management, I find that even in the campy games on Asia, I still do fine. On the topic of GK, I have been running ASM1 on her before Preussen came out and well, its a Monty with 4% worse dispersion ellipse and crap turret angles, but you get "German Armor".

As a proud secondary Gneisenau player, I can confirm that the survivability at T7 is nuts, at least if you avoid HE spammers for long enough. The speed makes it even more fun, and obviously the secondaries and torpedoes made for some very great meme moments already

Playing scharnhorst as a huge very well armored supercruiser at T7 with a tank build is pretty fun and works more often than it doesnt

The Preussen line (and GK) should be given a slightly reduced burn time from standard BB. This would be in line with their unique tank/brawling/turtle-back mission in the same fashion they gave the Italian BB line a special gun-feeder boost.

The only comment I want to make is on the last part of the video about using the Schlieffen line as the secondary German BB line for knife fighting, etc. While that is definitely true at T9 and T10, all the others have equal or worse secondaries than the Preussen line does, with worse armour and HP. They get torps, though, so they will win at most knife fights, but they don't have the staying power to get into most knife fights and almost never to do much of anything after the knife fight is over. Great at the suicide charge, though. I'd say that you can build into secondaries on the Preussen line up to the T6 Bayern, and after that go main battery. And in the Schlieffen line go main battery up to maybe Zieten. I've built into secondaries for all of them, but find it pretty disappointing on the Schlieffen line for the most part since the ships are so much squishier.

Having grind the Preussen and schlieffen line in 2022 at the same time i can say that the Preussen line was actually really fun to grind, one of the easiest actually (I struggled so hard with the schlieffen one) and the Preussen is a really good ship if you specc it for guns and not secondaries. For secondaries you have the schlieffen obviously but I find it too fragile to be efficient and thus fun, but for that I got the GK, it's tanky and imo a must secondary ship since the turret angle is SO bad (especially compared to the Preussen) you'll most like use your front turret only and secondaries. So yeah I do like German BBs line, but overall the Preussen is good but outmatched by other ships that are simply better. Imo the Montana is better all around, it's always efficient in every situation, almost no downside from armor to angle to guns and range. If you want tanky then Kremlin is simply better by far and the gun while short range do pack a punch and it has amazing shooting angle and great AA (until you get shot at that is..) So the Preussen just sits there in a murky spot where I end up never playing it, preferring the GK in ranked or the Montana.. But it's a fun line to grind with the Bismark and all nonetheless

But theres no other line like the germans who combine hydro, good armor, decent main batteries and secondaries that melt everything equally, in randoms these things might not matter, but in competitive, these tools make them a menace that can push and destroy anything, like for real no bb can stay in gk secondaries for too long untill they are in trouble , and dds cant come closer than 10k spotted before they start suffering, and personally i love melting cruisers when they think they can just sit nose in and live.

I like German BBs, they were my first line that I grinded. But they are severely powercrept by their horrible concealment, mediocre AA and of course the fact you can take full pens on your superstructure with battleships AP from any angle. I used to use preussian religiously in clan battles 2 seasons ago and would out brawl Ohio's and snipe cruisers. They are much better than alot give them credit for but they need those changes applied to stay relevant. Schieffen is somewhat better but it depends if there is a CV, DD, or sub spotting you for their team preventing you from being effective. Schieffen played right should always take the enemy by surprise, which is not easy to do.

I bought the Bismarck for the T8 brawls not long ago because I always hear so much about how good it is. That ship was the biggest POS.. Literally my 3rd most hated ship I've played in game. I didn't try a main gun build, pure secondaries but even the secondaries were pretty underwhelming. Main guns were useless, might as well replace them with a drunk sailor and a BB gun.

6:17, yes, that is the highlight of your matches, when you are brawling, especially when you get killed by a Zao in your Schliffen. (No hate, but I just want to remind everyone of that funny moment)

Germany, at the insistence of Krupp, never gave up on sliding breach blocks for their naval guns. Their guns had to be widely spaced to allow the giant piece of steel that sealed the breach to slide to the center of the turret during reloading. Thus the stupidly wide triple turrets on the fantasy ships are a nod to reality.

This really helped with a decision I've trying to make for a bit. I started playing back in CBT, but as a disabled veteran who got surprised with being a single dad computer issues just about pushed me to the edge. So it had been close to a year and a half of not playing when I discovered my computer apparently forgot about its problems. The game changed a lot it seemed, enough that I went from enjoying the game enough I may or may not have occasionally laughed maniacally wrecking the opposing team in my Japanese torpedo DD's and German BB's now I was punching my desk thinking wtf!? This isn't fun. I'm learning the new meta but definitely do not feel I was as good as I had been. I had switched all my German captians over to main battery builds but still wasn't sure if I wanted to grind out the new T10. I think I will now and once I have it I'll switch my GK back to brawler. You should try a few matches with her err "him" in main battery build, you might be surpised.

I had a 265k game in Prinz Rupprecht a few nights ago. If you can manage to flank and protect yourself by weaving in and out of islands you can still do well. But it has become increasingly difficult to do

Its pretty obvious since last year when the Schliffen branch was introduced, secondaries for the the main line is no longer the way to go. I personally had switched my main line ships to main gun tank build except Gneisenau because she has 128mm secondaries that pens 32mm without IFHE, and I used to run her in the old Operations Narai which only takes tier 7 ships. As for my premium ships, Scharnhorst main gun tank build, Tirpitz secondaries because I already have Bismarck in main gun build and I run her in today's Operations mode with Lutjens almost exclusively, Pommern and GK secondaries as I rarely use them in Randoms these days, keeping them for the occasional Dirigible Derby or Convoys mode, and being premium ships I can use my Schliffen trained Lutjens on them as well without retraining.

In WoWs blitz the GK is still the tech tree ship it got 18 inch guns. And the German P gets 406 mm guns and it’s the premium, oh and it gets torps

God I remember playing gnow before changes to her accuracy (this was right around the drop of the russian dds). Absolutely the most frustrating ship i ever played. I am still really pessimistic about ships with only 6 guns because I get flash backs to struggling to land literally any shot. Also I love my prussian. The batter turret angles are so awesome. Great brawling ship.

So hows a gun focussed Pommern? I used to run full secondary on all my German BB's except Sharnhorst and for while Tirpitz B. I'm now considering going all gun build on all traditional german BB's and leave the secondaries for the Battlecruiser line.

Honestly I think some form of radar would be a good fit for the mainline KM bbs. Since everything under the sun has smokescreens now (most of which are he dpm machines) it would significantly improve their ability to push in.

I think the issue is now choosing between Main gun spec or Secondary spec. Such mobility, yet still has great guns.

I’ve turned all my German bb’s into main battery ships (besides Bismarck and tirpitz due to gun caliber) and I will say they ain’t half bad. FDG is light years better this way with the reload so good and gk is actually not bad, just treat her like a Montana with some love handles and she will be pretty good

to explain why the German turrets are so wide, it's because the germans continued to use a different way style of breeches for their guns, compared to everybody else.

Remind me, don't German BBs have faster reloads on their guns then most BBs? I wonder how low you can get that with CQC skill (if enemy ships are in your secondary range, main battery reload -10%), reload modification and anything else that applies.

It was clear from day 1 that Preussen would be better with main guns build. For secondaries we already had GK and now Schlieffen. It was only pure logic not to build 3 ships from the same nation with a secondary build.

This dispersion buff is pure PR and nothing more. Its helps like makeup on dead body. It's raised KM BBs from utter shit to normal shit. First from T8 USN BBS have more guns but the most important is - when heavy US AP hits its hurts and german AP ... yea... And about being close and use secondaries you have said how it looks nowadays

I don't care what others say, Bismark, FDG and GK are some of my favourite ships. Still grinding for Preusen. I love Gneisenau but it is very out of place in the line IMO, should be swapped to the P. Heinrich which to me feels out of place too and should be a premium. The t7 should be half way between bayern and Bismark either a 1920s bayern refit or a proto Bismark.

I like T5 it is a bit of both worlds, some good ships if you are equal tier and can handle most T7 scemarios. But with the random Scenarios now so long as it isn't Killer Whale why do randoms any more!!!

I HATE!! that German BB line but I actually like the Prussian. Maybe I’m just lucky in it but the Prussian shells just keep getting me reliable citadels. I haven’t played my tirpitz in years because I hate German BB dispersion lol

Preussen is excelent ship for rankeds and stop there, she works brilliant with sec spec in reduced enemies enviroment without 6 ships shooting he at you at the same time, you can easily pull out 2 vs 1 and hold 3 vs 1 meanwhile you hope for your team to be competent to win meanwhile. In random?, I dont even think about it because if i want to use gun focused 8 barrels bb i would play thunderer

The problem with all those ideas is that...why? Why not just play ship which is good at the sniping role like Yamato instead? You neglect your strengths in order to lessen your weaknesses. The end result will always be mediocre.

The original German battleship experiance was really awful. you HAD to push in order to hit something with the secondaries, the main turrets were atrociously inaccurate.. I remember skipping FdG entirely because of this... And the GK was no better, same horrendous dispersion with a horrendous firing angles. Now they are far more usable, but the gameplay does not suit me.

French line is backwards at Tier 10. Republique should be the steel ship and the Bourgogne should be the tree ship. REpubliques gun layout doesnt match the line.

secondary builds are over-rated for battleships, have found main battery builds actually work better, SLM is too over hyped about secondary builds, he sounds like a broken record.

At 10 minutes, you launched the whole salvo at broadside of BB at 15 kilometers. That is a medium range. All of your shots missed! This is the exact reason why I do not bother with German sniping. Their guns are simply bad at anything short of firing at their own secondary range.

You’re a great content creator but this game is trash. Alaska is now out on War Thunder and it’s great. I’m not saying WT doesn’t have its issues, it has several……but this game is now silly arcade trash at its core. I’ve got 15k+ games and uninstalled a month ago. Im not saying this just to be a dick. Go look at WT Naval content creation on KZfaq. It’s terrible. Mountbatten you could dominate creating content for WT Naval. Probably even hold your own on the air and ground sides also.
