The shell dispersion difference between Iowa and Wisconsin is massive Hor Dispersion 180 vs 149 (@ 12km) vertical dispersion 91 vs 75 Sigma 1.9 vs 2.0 Shell speed and pen a bit higher to Wisconson top 5 accurate bbs in the entire game

Wisconsin should still have the same heals as Iowa, its just that Wisconsin's HP pool is slightly larger so the consumable proportionally heals a bit more.

Wargaming assumes its players are stupid and dumb down the UI as much as possible. They did the same thing with WoT, where there are a lot of hidden statistics. I remember back in early WoT people were complaining about Russian tanks having better armor than they should for their thickness but there was nothing to prove it. Until it got datamined and it was shown that many Russian tanks had much higher homogenization statistics for their armor, making the armor 'harder'. Soon after that they claim they "retired" that stat, but yeah, okay.

I have concluded that splitting hairs on stats is irrelevant as WG never tells the truth and the spaghetti code, countless bugs, and hidden algorithms mean any given salvo is a crap shoot and your ships win rate depends on how you play it and how WG wants to fuel your gambling and rage addiction today.

I'm hoping the stuff to fix my game rig short term arrives this week. If it gets me up and running, I'm grinding for the Wisconsin. For the first time, I'll spend real cash on the game itself for a doubloon package. Hopefully the grind will get me through some tiers as well, and position me to get the Maine if it becomes available. This Wisconsin thing is the first thing I have seen them do that gets me interested in playing again, and I was in the beta.

I agree, they don't include this information because this game is not a simulator and is not meant to be. I agree they could add drop down menus for stat warriors, but the vast majority of players won't find much value in "how my shells are .002 harder than this ship so it'll pen so much more". And you will rarely if ever get into a situation in game where knowing you pen 2% more is of any value. Shoot the player if you pen or don't, also 2% extra pen isn't your issue with the rng in the game. I would like to see a AP pen capability for each ship like "500mm-50mm" min to max range. This is easier than remembering and mathing out 4-5 different numbers. Thank you for the content.

I think Wisconsin is decent . I say keep expectations low and you should have great fun. Its amazing how soviet shells are faster and most of the guns and ships were never built. Thanks for going into depth about the ships guns

Just unrelated question. Ive never seen Elbing in match, is it that bad? Vast majority of DD´s i see are Shimakaze, with other regulars being mostly Harugumo, Marceau, Gearing and Daring. Other sometime pop up, but ive never encountered single Elbing.

Can you get the wisconsin with only buying the first stater pack or will you need both to reach the end.

As it is well known atmosphere is not a thing for the mighty soviet union, the soviet existed in a vacuum and it was fuelled by Vodka, so the existence of Slava in this game is perfectly reasonable. 😁

I can see an argument for why some numbers aren't in game, take for instance AP fuse time, 0.033s for normal AP shells, and 0.015s for short fuse honestly doesn't LOOK like a big difference. Sigma and Krupp also don't make the most sense on their own without also having an explanation of what they are. If you tell even some veteran players that their ship has for example a Sigma of 1.8, they will have no idea what that even means. Even though the dev blogs talk about that information a fair bit. Now I get the argument of if that information was in game people would know what it meant... maybe... People still get the information we have in game wrong as well. For instance I had someone try to argue with me that Adatara was more accurate than Bungo, purely because the stat card dispersion says Adatara has better dispersion. Even though both have the same sigma and same dispersion formula, the only difference is max range. Bungo shoots farther, so it's max dispersion is larger, and that made someone actually think it was a less accurate ship. Or how about the time I had someone argue with me that when you use your spotter plane, it uses your stat card listed dispersion at your new max range. Or there is also the old tied, "faster rudder shift makes your turning circle smaller!" even though it doesn't, and the game doesn't even pretend like it does. There are already so many misconceptions about stats that we can see in game, that honestly might be the reason why Wargaming doesn't want to show us all of the stats. Even more so as they are not always intuitive. Like "fire resist" for example.

I didn't catch the BC on the shells, but I didn't notice that on ranges 15k+ only the Slava has better vertical dispersion. I think that is going to make them feel more accurate than other ships with 2.0 sigma.

The info isn't in game b/c they didn't plan to edit any of these values at the beginning but then needed to add more and more ships.

My problem with it, is it has no business being in Tier 10. Its an Iowa class BB. Just keep it at T9 as a premium Iowa, not in the same tier as a ship a whole class newer.

Wisconsin pen on 22km is just 6mm less than vermonts, let that sink. And 21mm higher than Montanas. It is also consistently higher than Montanas at ranges higher or equal to 10km. Iowa has the same penetration as Montana, so no, you dont trade anything. You get both lower shell travel time, and higher penetration on any ranges that penetration has any importance.

I am curious SLM how much flak you get in matches while running the Wisconsin? Its stupid how folks are trying to shame people who have the ship already, from what I have seen recently.

I outright bought the wisconsin, for me it is worth it 100% and its a perfect ship moat of the time.

I have seen a significant increase in alpha damage/citadel hits with the Whiskey as compared to the Iowa!

You are still wrong. E.g., Wisconsin AP pen 569 is higher than Iowa AP pen 562, not lower. Wisconsin higher shell impact speed of 613 m/s VS. Iowa 585 m/s probably has some bearing on penetration. And stop calling it a reload booster, its Immediate Systems Reload which covers more than gun reload. And, quite frankly, at the end of the day most players don't give a hoot about all that "vital information".

I'm grinding (well, half-whaling) this dockyard because I absolutely hate BBs, and grinding any tech line will burn me out, so wanted a decent T10 prem BB in port for missions and fucking about. Wisconsin is perfect for that. Just wish they gave it a slightly better reload speed, to make a meme BC dispersion/reload build viable. Like 26-28 seconds.

Ok in the real world the airdrag coefficient should equate to what is known as the ballistic coefficient in the world of long range rifle competition. The ballistic coefficient is a calculation based on length diameter and shape of the projectile. The higher the ballistic coefficient the more aerodynamic the projectile and the more efficient it will be at longer ranges bleeding velocity and energy at a slower rate. It is extremely common for a projectile with a large advantage in velocity and energy at the muzzle to fall well behind a high BC projectile at 500+ yds. Are you certain that you have the airdrag numbers correct? The Wisconsin should have a higher coefficient number not a lower one. Of course that is assuming wargaming actually understands how that works and coded it correctly.

"The Wisconsin heal heals more than the Iowa heal" I dunno, cuz it has more HP? Edit: Penetration value of an AP shell is based on both the krupp value and the speed of the shell, so Wisconsin will actually have more pen than an Iowa past 10km
