Another classic that is always in demand is the one about the gloves for simracing. Steering wheels that are covered with wild leather unfortunately become greasy after a short time due to hand sweat. This does not feel good and then looks like that. Driving with gloves prevents this.

@@Forb-sh5uj To me, for any time, and not just the difficulties the world is experiencing at the moment. I find this pride, or sense of extreme accomplishment in computer gaming quite odd, but perhaps this is a new phenomena for this generation who spends most of their time, thus life, in virtual reality instead of the real reality...thus their existence in virtual worlds is as real to them as their offline life. Other vids that boggle my mind have titles such as - 'I survived 100 days in mindcraft'. Really...survived?

@@Older_Mountain-goat_1984 Esports and other virtual achievements will surpass physical sports in the near future. Both in participation levels and monetary values. Every major traditional sport is declining. As such, achievements in Esports and games have as much or more meaning for younger folks as traditional sports did for previous generations. There's a lot of reasons for that. Main one being accessibility. Even someone very under (or over) sized can partake as long as they can use a mouse and keyboard, or controller or other peripheral so it's open to vast majority of people.

@@Older_Mountain-goat_1984 Okay tough guy, why don't you pull up the amount of capital required to race in any racing series for a whole season. Sim racing is far cheaper than that, and there's still a sense of accomplishment in it. And not only that, but real F1 drivers also use simulators to train for real racing, as well as participate in e-sports racing competitions. You're just too old to understand. Why don't you beat your wife instead?

Wow that was so incredible. Anyone who has played Dirt Rally 2.0 will know how hard it is to drive fast and cleanly for a whole stage without crashing. @tommisaarinen2394
@tommisaarinen2394 3 жыл бұрын
@@Silvera-Avian Honestly, manual gears don't require that much extra skill with a clutch. It definitely has a learning curve to it but you'll get used to it pretty quick. If you can drive stick and have done track racing with a H-pattern gearbox and a clutch it should be pretty much second nature to you within a week or two, or much less, depending how quick of a learner you are. The shifting process is physically a more complicated and time-consuming task though so you can't quite run through gears as quickly as with a dogbox or a fully sequential gearbox (hence why high-performance rally cars and track cars all have them) meaning you will be inevitably losing time but being able to do it and drive fast isn't all that much harder. It's just not very practical or convenient.

After feels like 5,000 comments on the same topic over and over again about why I don't use the clutch, let me explain why. I only use the clutch to start off and not to shift up or down. When shifting up, all you need to do with a motorsport dog box gearbox is to briefly interrupt the ignition or briefly lift the throttle. With sequential motorsport transmissions, the ignition interruption is the normal case because these usually have a dog box transmission. When downshifting, the gearbox is only in overrun by the drive train and not by the engine under load. This also works with a normal motorbike transmission as long as there is no load from the engine. This is completely normal in motocross, for example. In gravel rallies, you can even use this with rear-wheel-drive vehicles when downshifting to overbrake so that the rear end moves in the desired direction. But you can also continue to use the clutch ... ;-)

Bit late to the party, as I just found this guy's channel, (yes I did read the pinned comment) but for all wondering about him not using the clutch it's because he doesn't have it activated in-game. I've played this game for over a year, I've tested the ins and outs of the clutch system in this game and with this specific car. It is physically impossible to upshift and downshift without using the clutch when H-Pattern + Clutch is selected. The reason he is able to do so is because he has ONLY H-Pattern shifting enabled in-game, which completely disables the clutch altogether, not the H-pattern AND Clutch option, which forces the use of the clutch for shifting. Thought I'd clear this up for anyone who's still confused or wanting to learn how to do this.

@@szymi5005 I mean, like in real life, I don't know how to explain it, it doesn't look like you have 50 km/h while you're running in the game with more than 200 km/h.

It's mostly the Field Of View, I'm not so sure it's correctly setup for this screen (fov angle too big). He is amazing of course no matter the FOV but I would look into that to make it as realistic as possible too, considering all the other work that was put into this rig.

Tips for new drivers: your car will turn tighter if you put weight on the front inside wheel, this can be done by braking and turning to the outside of the corner before hitting the corner and flicking the wheel left. Along with this also chain left and right corners together as the same weight trick applies

Bro you drive like it’s a damn hover car. 🚗 I see my life flash before my eyes as you pass every tree on the road it’s crazy. Congrats on your time! I see from the rally books on the shelves you take this seriously. I have a set of sim rigs myself but maybe I need to get the larger wheel. I use Thrustmaster T300 and a Thrustmaster TMX because that’s all I could get my hands on during covid. I do have the gated shifter and upgraded pedals. They are a hit at parties. People won’t stay off of them. They are linked on PC2 and they get a lot of use.

@patrickboudreau4703 The driver does a 'recce' of the stages with his co driver. During this the driver dictates the notes to the co driver, who writes them down. These are the notes that are then used in the stage. Hence, every driver will have slightly different notes. So, the pace notes are made up from the driver doing a slow run through the stage and telling his co driver what to write down.
