2nd greatest Amiga game of all time! I was grinding this one so much lately and tried to figure out the best strategy to win this. There is a faster route to win, but it was so difficult for me to pull it of so I decided to do the safer (and slower) route. Sure I did many minor mistakes which costs time and you can easily save up to 1-2 minutes, but I dont care at the moment, I am just glad I finished it in a decent time.
My first strategy was to collect all the evidence so I was able to convince the major at day 6 that the Ants are real, but I never could jump into the queens nest, because the time gap was just to short for me and I was always eaten by the Ants. Then I discovered that you just have to wait until day 11 and the Ants will eat the Majors Car so he will call the general alarm without the evidence, but again I couldnt get into the nest. It seems that you need to battle the Ants first and win so the hole will stay open for a longer period of time. I decided then to wait until day 12, when the Ants will attack the Airport where I have to go anyway. I defeated them with the help of some tanks and then I headed to the Queens Nest successfully. In the Lair I was taking some wrong turns but I didnt mind I just wanted to bring this to an End.
I am so relifed that the grind is finally over. Still an all time classic and a great game.
Btw: Here is the route to collect the evidence the fastest way.
Sleep until Day 3 and your Neighbor will give you an Ant leg.
On Day 4 go to the SW crater and you get the cast, then go to the police to get the tape.
On day 5 go to the Quarry and you get the fluid, then bring all 4 pieces to the Prof and sleep until day 6. Visit the Prof again and then go to the Major to convince him. He then will call for the general alarm.
