The devotion and dedication to a club is something you can only see in Europe. UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Turkey. We do not watch the match of the team we support like the Americans, like watching a picnic. When the support of our team fails like crazy, when the networks are successful, we are happy as if our child was born. We always stand by them both materially and spiritually. because it is the only thing we can hold on to. We do not look at the trophies they have won in the USA as pieces of a tin and their successes with the eye of money. For us, winning a derby is like a matter of honor. As we are crazy like that, Americans should keep watching baseball.

What's the history about the rivalry?

@@s078 the first recorded meeting between Mohun Bagan (formed 1889) and East Bengal (formed 1920) in the Calcutta Derby was in August 1921. The history of the rivalry lies in the history of the two clubs. Mohun Bagan is generally supported by the native people of Bengal while East Bengal's majority fanbase came from the East Bengal state after partition, there is a deep lying cultural heritage in the derby.
